a very warm welcome to hukd newbie.great first post hot from me.
Another beer ruined by Carlsberg, chances are that this is brewed at the Kronenbourg brewery in France rather than the original Belgium brewery.

Not a very popular beer in Belgium.
Your correct about the brewery but reason for posting is 1 the price and 2 I've only seen this in beer shops in belgium or online
I drunk it, it was good. £1.89 from ocado if you like with 20 reviews ocado.com/web…011
reminds me of pukkelpop festival- this was the weakest draught option (good times)
great beer

is this nationwide?
Aldi have had it in for a few weeks now.

Decent stuff for me - preferable to Leffe and probably worth the extra cost.

I've got some in the shed at home which were purchased the other week. If I get the chance, I'll see where they were brewed.

The beers marketed under the brand name Grimbergen are now brewed by two different companies. Alken-Maes located in Alken in Belgium brewed the beer before 2008. Alken-Maes was taken over by Heineken International in 2008. As part of the takeover the brand name Grimbergen was transferred to Carlsberg Group, but Heineken was given a long-term license to use the brand name in Belgium.[2] As a result Alken-Maes brews the beer for the Belgian market, while Carlsberg is responsible for the marketing outside Belgium of the beers that it brews under the Grimbergen name at its Kronenbourg Brewerylocated in France.[3][4] In the Netherlands, Grolsch Brewery is responsible for the marketing of Grimbergen that is brewed by Alken-Maes.[5]

I'd the same glasses in Paris....in fact one made it home in my luggage . A free glass was the least they could do charging 8 quid a pint.

A nice beer but, quite floral to begin with then a strong aftertaste similar to San Miguel
Well, it certainly explains why Grimbergen seems to be pretty widely available in France. Didn't realise that it was brewed by two different companies these days!

As I say, quite a nice beer, regardless of where it is brewed. I wouldn't worry too much about the Kronie name on the bottle - the French Kronenbourg is quite drinkable and is loads different to the rubbish brewed under licence in the UK. Same goes for Stella, San Miguel etc etc etc.
Blonde isn't very good, dark Grimbergen is lovely though.
I'm gonna drink it very soon while watching making a murderer. I shall then give my review lol
Very nice beer in my opinion I've tasted alot of Belgian beer and as this is not my favourite it's still good. I think rather similar too leffe.
Mine wasn't quite as nice as the one in Paris but still nice & good price. Still prefer the Leffe blonde plus it comes in bigger bottles
My mate said he just found a load of this in Lidl in the larger sized real ale type bottles... said they were in the specials section.
Which lidl
