for a 128gb card the write speeds are too slow for my liking

Because for some applications reasonably large storage is necessary and speed doesn't really matter. I have a load of similar 64Gb ones for incremental photo backups for example. After a day's photography, it might take 3-4 minutes to write to a stick. Sure I could pay extra and have a faster write, but I don't really care about saving a couple of minutes. I'll be cleaning a lens or putting equipment away anyway. I could buy a bigger backup hard drive, but USBs take up less storage space and don't need to be plugged in to the mains. I could buy many more small ones, but then you have to find the correct one to write to. You don't always need the fastest available.

I've been tempted by similar deals in the past but yes, the massive storage size doesn't gel with the slow write capacity. You want to use it for backups for movies or images but because it takes so long I end up not bothering! I've got terrabytes of stuff on the main computer so even if I said oh I'll stick 50GB of home movies on it, it would just take all day. Still - your mileage may vary and depending on how you use it, still could be a good un.

Any deals for 128gb micro SD please?

Stop coming in here with your logic and common sense.

I have one of these Grixx sticks and it gets so hot (because it takes SOOOO long to transfer stuff) that the shell casing slips off when you try and pull it out the port.

Its a pain in the back side. Ive super glued, but again, a bit of heat (and this gets some serious heat) and it falls apart again.

Is that the USB 3 version you've got? I heard that one gets stupidly hot but that this one isn't too bad.

I've had 3 of the 3.0 ones. 2 DOA and one died 24hrs later. have a google its a common issue and 7day shop takes ages to refund!

Cold from me. For £4 extra you can get a 128GB 3.0 samsung fit.

They make chips and they don't come up to scratch for the purpose they made them for so it's either trash it or put it to another use.

Mine failed the same week it came out of warranty.

They do expire, if it saves anyone trouble to be reminded; dont store unique precious photos or files on a usb stick.
