Product Description
Manufacturer's Description
An upgraded version of the original Gro-bag Egg, the Gro-egg is an ingenious colour changing digital room thermometer. There’s so much to think about with a new baby, and keeping an eye on room temperature is an important part of safe sleep. The Gro-egg uses colour as a great way to show the approximate room temperature. As the temperature rises or falls, the Gro-egg changes colour, from blue through yellow to red, as a handy reminder to adjust the environment. If the temperature is outside the recommended guidelines, you'll know at a glance that it's time to adapt the baby's bedding, change their clothing or alter the room temperature. The award-winning design makes the Gro-egg probably the best looking thermometer ever hatched. Please note, the Gro-egg is designed to glow in darker conditions, so in light rooms please use the digital permanently back-lit LCD screen. A safe sleep guide is also enclosed with every purchase of the Gro-egg.
Box Contains
1 x Gro-egg
1 x Safe sleep guide

These are useless, dont buy one, can only see the colour in the dark ! - decent price though, so heat for that. But be warned.

Heat added. Would not have been without one of these when my daughter was a baby

Couldn't disagree more we have used these for years like loads of friends and family.

Quality deal and much heat...

We had this for both our daughters as babies (now 3 and 4) and it was brilliant and doubled as a very soothing night light.

Heated.

Yep. Recommended.

I have had one of these and the damn thing was always 3degrees C out. But it looked pretty, i had to go to the anguish of subtracting 3 from the reading each time to make sure my daugther wasnt cold. So cant really recommend it.

looks pretty, but pretty inaccurate.

This is a cool little gadget and it gets a hot vote from me, but I do chuckle a little to myself and wonder how any of us managed to make it into adulthood as our parents didnt have gadgets like this when we were kids. Do we really need to rely upon a digital thermometer (especially one that some people say is inaccurate) to tell if a room is too hot or too cold? Surely we can just, well, tell by being in it?

Anyway, please dont shout at me - just my two cents; i'm in a jovial mood cause it's Friday

So i can see from your avatar LOL

Love this gadget

hot for the price. but cold for the product.

we bought one from mothercare at rull retail price, and it broke within 4 weeks. the reading was not accurate which, to be fair, could have been quite dangerous! fortunately, we had a little hand-size phillips one to check it against.

i ususally stay quite quiet on HUKD, but had to speak out about this one sorry!

Fantastic product. I have used this for last three and a half yrs for my two kids

I'm sitting watching comic relief and was about to donate some money when i read your heart breaking tale. Do you have some way of donating to you to help relieve your anguish?

So what exactly is the optimum temperature for a baby?

I still don't get exactly what it does apart from being a thermometer? You look at the colour to see if the temperature of your kid's room is dangerous and you haven't provided adequate bedding?! Or is there some optimum temperature for keeping them asleep? - in which case you'll have to keep checking the 'egg' ?

Not a very politically correct comment. We're in Europe now so its 190 degrees C.

Agreed, had one, crap. returned and it craftily hides the horrible white cable that it has to be plugged in with to work, had it of been battery power or chargable then better, but no.

Surely a normal thermometer does the job just as well (or better), and a lot cheaper!

Apparently these are renowned for being very inaccurate.

I'm part of the inaccurate temp brigade too. Plus, our baby monitor displays the temp on it (like most do) and therefore makes this product redundant.
