Do not bite yet...My local stores have thousands of these and they will be half this price in a month or so. I bought 8 of these in August last year for £24 (edited)

I bought 3 100l in the last deal for around £22 and wasn't impressed. Not surprised they have lots to shift as it resembles loft insulation rather than compost. Full of fibres and other bits.

Good price on the top soil if the poor screening for stones doesn't matter (e.g. for a flowerbed). But for under turf or raised beds for fruit/veg it is not suitable.

Wickes top soil costs more but is far better screened - bought many bags of it and never seen a stone. (edited)

Why would Homebase not offer delivery service?

I think they don't deliver on items that weigh a lot and aren't expensive. Like soil.

Stock for the compost at the four nearest stores to me 0, 420, 0, 380. Some fine, fine stock allocation there.

Looked at some recent reviews on the 100l, on the Wilko website, looks like the quality isn't what it was.

Anyone tried Levington Multipurpose compost? SAinsbury's sells 3 bags of 40l each for £10 now.

I need about a ton of soil. Would have been handy too bad they've all closed near me. Closest one is very far away now.

I believe the compost contains 50% peat, the extraction of which is not good for the environment. Look for peat-free alternatives.

Damn it, I paid £24 for 3 bags three weeks ago and I still haven't opened them. 😁

Over 450 x3 units left in the three nearest stores within 5 miles radius. (edited)
