sorted byI think it’s partly incompetent staff/poor customer service and partly that their online stock system is utterly useless. I had a C&C order last week and they phoned to say part of the order was OOS, then turned up and a large majority of it was missing. Seems ridiculous that they go the effort to phone about the order but don’t relay accurate information. Wouldn’t have bothered with the trip if I’d known 80% of the order was OOS.
Whilst stood at the desk, I went online to check other stores nearby and the website was still showing the same store as having stock for the missing items. Staff at customer service said they ‘reported it’ but have no power to change or update it on the website. (Over a week later the website STILL shows the items as available despite none in store)
Anyway, great price on the compost. I know the problems with peat and always prefer peat-free when possible, but sometimes it’s a toss up between ethics and budget especially if you have a large area to cover, so it’s not always an option.
@idontflycathayhave you seen stock anywhere?Ignore me, just seen the screen shot, looks very limited but good if you can find (and even better if the online stock actually exists in the store ) (edited)Agreed I was just about to post the same.
I use Sylvagrow John Innes No. 3 peat free.
An hour later the store rang me. They reckon someone stole the 6 bags so they have none. Order cancelled. I suspect the staff realised they’d missed out and made up a story to release the stock. I’ve had similarly poor service from HomeBase previously so won’t use them again.
