Just bought one of these at my local Homebase (Sleaford). It’s the same price on the website. Seems like limited stock, but good luck!!

Thanks reserved one at my local, these seem to be well over 120 in other places, surprised homebase is still in business with such low clearance prices.

Mine went through at the till no problem, hope you have no problems
Great price (if you can find one) though Grohe stuff isn't as good as their RRPs would suggest - mid market at best.

Bridgend (South Wales) has 3 in stock.

Don’t know, sorry, maybe someone with some plumbing expertise can answer that one. I was after a shower that had 150mm centres at a reasonable price. This fitted the bill.
OOS :/

I've tried several locations, using relatives who live much further afield, but no stock.
Wow! Scorching hot! (managed to reserve a couple)...

Nope, not unless you have a threaded outlet that matches the shower hose.

This unit is a mixer shower. It takes and mixes hot and cold (separate feeds) at mains pressure, which typical means you need an unvented cylinder to supply it. Newer homes will almost certainly have this.

Older homes will have a gravity vented cylinder set up - you can easily identify this if you have a cold water tank in your loft and a smaller hot water tank normally in your airing cupboard. Centres on this are 150mm which is the most common but be aware some mixers showers can be up to 165mm, which may mean a bit of hacking about an altering the tails.

If you already have a mixer, then this is an absolute bargain and a really easy swap over. You would be mad not to try and get one.

Hi sorry a bit of an unrelated question but you seem to know your stuff. We’ve recently moved house and there is an old indirect water system with a tank in the airing cupboard and tanks in the loft. We have recently installed a new electric shower and it’s making a whining noise, would you by any chance know why this could be there?

Previous shower was fine

Thanks for your help

So indirect refers to the heating coil, it is the method of how the water is heated. What you describe is a vented gravity system.

The electric shower will only have a cold feed. If it is whining their are a few possibilities

1) A faulty shower unit (pump)
or more likely
2) The pump impeller has some crud in it from the swap over
or possibly
3) The pump is not getting enough water because the feed pipe / filter is covered in gunk / scale. You would notice this from a lower flow rate!

Ask whoever installed it to comeback and check the feed for points 2/3. Make sure it is isolated first as electric showers are one of the few things in your home that will seriously ruin your day (along with cookers) if you take a belt off the supply.
