An online campaign is underway to get Eagles of Death Metal, who were playing at the Bataclan theatre when the Paris terror attacks were carried out, to the top of the UK singles chart to show unity, respect and defiance.

duranduran.com/wor…er/

Duran Duran issued a statement today regarding the fan campaign to propel the Eagles of Death Metal’s cover of their song “Save A Prayer” to #1 on the British charts.

“We are honored that the Eagles of Death Metal covered “Save A Prayer,” and included it on their most recent album. In fact, it was a thrill playing the song together recently on TFI Friday in London. We bumped into the band on Friday afternoon of last week, when we were all on our way to Paris on the Eurostar. We were opening Al Gore’s Climate Change concert broadcast there, and they were playing at the Bataclan. What happened that night defies any kind of comprehension. The tragedy that unfolded at their show, and around the city, brought immeasurable sadness to so many and shocked the world. We wholeheartedly support the campaign that the fans have mounted to show solidarity to the band that they love. We will be donating all of our royalties from the sale of this version of the single. There are a number of causes under consideration, all of which are peaceful, effective and unifying.”

– Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor & Roger Taylor, London.

REM are usually awake, Scissor Sisters weren't, Thompson Twins neither, A Flock Of Seagulls were all humans and The Police had no law enforcement credentials.

Its outrageous what these bands can call themselves without being called out, and they've been getting away with it for years.

I am sure that the majority realise the tragedy in Paris was not just against the French but against us all...... For those who don't yet grasp that and are holding out for a bomb to go off in their street to wake them up,I truly feel sorry.

    A good worthy cause !!!

Or you could read about the campaign and see that the right holders to the song, Duran Duran, are donating royalty proceeds to charity..

Which charity? Syrian refugees or families in Syria affected by American, UK, French etc bombs or something?

    Can we ask questions?
Who is endorsing this? Duran Duran? What have they to do with it?
What about the hosting company etc and royalties and sync? Does every penny ever made now go to charity?
Seems a simple thing but really isnt

No, clearly a bunch of shepherds in the desert got together and saved up … No, clearly a bunch of shepherds in the desert got together and saved up their money that they get from selling....erm....sheep? To buy some soviet weaponry, expensive video cameras, Toyota pickup trucks and to pay an ISP to access the Internet. Then they took the time and effort to learn to use those cameras to make videos that look better than some of the stuff hollywood puts out, making it look suspiciously like a Toyota advert and uploads it via that Internet connection which must be the best in their country. Wake Up.Where did I say those empires were a good thing? However, the way of life and culture that is dominant in the world is from the European empires, Capitalism, which seems to be the new religion of these countries is built upon slavery and murder which is wrong, whoever is doing it. I just think it's hypocritical that people care about it when it's their own people but not when it's the victims of their own people.I don't support Islam or any religion. Islam...Christianity...Judaism...all the same thing, they believe in the same god and have all murdered and oppressed for that god. However, it's usually Christians that do the religious wars, most of these wars start out over stolen land and enslaved people, it's the west that tries to make it about religion.

I think the opposite. All past religious wars (and current ones) were orchestrated by people with only one motivation: greed. Religion was and is used as a disguise by evil opportunists to murder, steal and gain power in a particular region. Most people nowadays acknowledge that the Christian side were more violent and greedy than the Muslim side during the Crusades. I disagree. It was the same story during the Crusades as it is now. There are no bad Muslims, Christians, Jews or Hindus and so forth. There is only good and evil.

On a side note, there are some questions we need to ask ourselves. Firstly, if these so-called Islamic terrorists are indeed Muslim as they claim, then why is it that Israel is NEVER a target? Why are 99.99% of their victims Muslims? Why do they bomb mosques? If they follow the Quran then why do they kill innocent people? Why don't they ever donate money to poor Muslims? If people think 1.6 billion Muslims are terrorists then why are we living our lives peacefully and not going off one by one like freaking popcorn? Why did the CIA train and arm these terrorists (which they admit)? How do we know the CIA doesn't still control them?

Why has Israel been given a free pass to do whatever it likes despite the hundreds of UN resolutions and international laws it has broken? Why are Western arms dealers profiting so much from our spending on defense to fight terrorists? How much of a cut do our politicians, aka the middlemen, get? Why does Israel get $3 billion for free every year from the US whilst army veterans are dying on their streets? Why does the media completely ignore past false flag attacks by Israel against the West (the King David Hotel bombing, The Lavon Affair and the USS Liberty scandal) where Israeli terror groups committed terrorism while disguised as Arabs? Is this still continuing to this very day? What does the US and Israel do with unattended oil and gas reserves after they catastrophically damage regions in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan etc with airstrikes? How are terrorist groups allowed to wander free and wreak havoc with unlimited funding and military grade weaponry when the US has hundreds of military bases and satellites around the world, as well as the world's best tracking systems? Why is it that bombers always conveniently carry their passports around with them? Why are these passports ALWAYS left intact even when the owner resembles mince meat?

There are way too many unanswered questions as you can see. It saddens me to say it but we are all being deceived by our government, the people who were meant to look out for our wellbeing. They chose profit instead of morality and we can't do a single damn thing about it...

you know what's really annoying about this, all the comments saying it should go to charities for the people that were affected by the Paris attacks and how the band should speak up and say what's happening with the money. I honestly wouldn't mind if the band kept the money. it won't be very much in the grand scheme of things since you make very little from singles and the band didn't write the song so would get an even smaller percentage of any profits! and the band were in the theatre too on stage so I think it will of affected them too?! they will have lost fans in the most horrific way, close friends in the crew might be dead. they've cancelled the rest of the tour, who knows if they will ever be able to physically get up on stage again! if they get a few grand out of this and it tributes the people who have lost their lives then what's wrong with that?!

Some of the crazy comments on here put me in mind of this piece and the pathetic excuses being used.

It must be incredibly frustrating as an Islamic terrorist not to have your views and motives taken seriously by the societies you terrorize, even after you have explicitly and repeatedly stated them. Even worse, those on the regressive left, in their endless capacity for masochism and self-loathing, have attempted to shift blame inwardly on themselves, denying the terrorists even the satisfaction of claiming responsibility.
It's like a bad Monty Python sketch:
"We did this because our holy texts exhort us to to do it."
    "No you didn't."
    "Wait, what? Yes we did..."
"No, this has nothing to do with religion. You guys are just using religion as a front for social and geopolitical reasons."
"WHAT!? Did you even read our official statement? We give explicit Quranic justification. This is jihad, a holy crusade against pagans, blasphemers, and disbelievers."
"No, this is definitely not a Muslim thing. You guys are not true Muslims, and you defame a great religion by saying so."
"Huh!? Who are you to tell us we're not true Muslims!? Islam is literally at the core of everything we do, and we have implemented the truest most literal and honest interpretation of its founding texts. It is our very reason for being."
"Nope. We created you. We installed a social and economic system that alienates and disenfranchises you, and that's why you did this. We're sorry."
"What? Why are you apologizing? We just slaughtered you mercilessly in the streets. We targeted unwitting civilians - disenfranchisement doesn't even enter into it!"
"Listen, it's our fault. We don't blame you for feeling unwelcome and lashing out."
"Seriously, stop taking credit for this! We worked really hard to pull this off, and we're not going to let you take it away from us."
"No, we nourished your extremism. We accept full blame."
"OMG, how many people do we have to kill around here to finally get our message across?"

'shut up' as a response is rather lacking in intelligence isn't it..... but then sheep don't have to be clever or witty, they just follow.

It's just boring and a typical muslim response, anytime something happens we are reminded that we are supposed to mourn Palestine, Iraq, Syria etc... with no mention of any non-muslim countries. If you have no sympathy for non-Muslims who are killed in atrocities then don't whine and complain when people don't have the same outpouring of sympathy for the 12th attack of the day in the middle east as they do when Europe see's it's worst attack in decades.

    So once again, shut up.

No issue with helping charity, but this site is for deals and not a political melting pot for everyone's opinions. That's said please don't forget we armed, funded and help create ISIS to fight against their government. ISIS are rolling around in our armoured vehicles and firing our weapons as we speak. Not all donations are good, some come back and bite you in the backside.

But as always, the sheeple in this country will continue to be brainwashed by the media. The real enemy isn't ISIS, its the government. It will always be the government. Corruption at its finest.

On Friday night I stood in a bar in France watching a reporter talking over her mobile phone in a kiosk, this was broadcasting live minutes after the attack on tv. In the backround armed police were shooting at terrorists in the street, this was no media brainwashing stunt............

In the concert hall terrorists stood over French people as they laid on the floor, shooting every third person.....

To compare this event with what the US has done previously should not detract from what is happening now "To Us All"...............

99p however it is shared about is an act of support for those hurt and killed as make no mistake this can within the blink of an eye happen to any one of us.......................

It's almost as though there is a handbook on how to be a conspiracy theorist.

Step 1) label a recent tragedy as a "false flag"
Step 2) post long-long-winded rants in forums
Step 3) include links to obscure YouTube videos/blog posts (i.e. nothing credible)
Step 4) label anyone who disagrees with you a sheep who has been brainwashed
Step 5) offer no logical reasons for these so called false flag events - other than something daft like "to keep the masses in a permanent state of fear"
Step 6) selectively ignore any serious challenges to your theories
Step 7) use the old "of course you think I'm crazy - you've been brainwashed!" argument for pretty much everything

    And so on....

If I were to tell one of these fruitloops that my cousin's boyfriend was tragically killed in Paris, I'd either be a) ignored or b) accused of lying - its all so predictable.

It's easy to explain that one. Basically one group like to wipe, wash and wipe their bottoms again. The other group just like to wipe and go which is extremely unhygienic. Why? Are you that uneducated that you're not aware of MOSSAD and it's history of impersonating Arabs/Muslims to achieve their goals? It's not like it's a secret. It's a fact. Even the BBC has reported this when they infiltrated a hotel in Dubai to kill a certain individual. That's not even the worst thing. Second, look at the solidarity they show to each other, what have Saudi and Qatar done to Iraq? 3rd, you can't compare Paris where people went out to enjoy the night to Iraq or Syria where people are in a war and expecting bombs at any moment. I understand your point of you, but this isn't the right place or time.

seriously? You're telling me the western countries aren't expecting bombs? But I guess if you're in a war torn country where you have nothing to do with the two sides at war, it shouldn't matter because you should expect bombs. Cmon dude!
The moment any country involves it's military in another country, makes themselves a target. Whether you're there to help the natives or for other hidden agendas, you're country will be a target.
