Quidco has 5% so £20 or so CB there.
Is Grundig a good make now? Always used to have a rubbish reputation when I was growing up.
This seems a good price for a heat pump dryer plus it has the 5 year warranty, which is well worth it as these things can cost £££'s to fix. I'd love someone to crunch the maths please (whatever a typical unit of electric might cost in peak hours) and offset the extra cost of this versus a std. cheaper tumble dryer that gobbles electric. Then there is the CO2 and the planet to consider also I guess.
Heat added O/P.

Looking at the consumption figures this uses 1.42Kwh per cycle. An equivalent b rated 8kg dryer (theres a Beko one on the Currys website for £229) uses 4.75kwh per cycle
So a difference of 3.33kwh per cycle
Say a unit cost of 15p, that is a saving of 50p per cycle.
So £468 - £229 =£239
So it will pay for itself after 478 cycles
Or around 5 years depending on how often you'd use it.
Also, as this will extract its heat from the home so may have a slight increase in heating costs during the winter though whether this is measurable or not is up for debate.

They don't extract heat from the home, they extract heat exiting the drum rather than being wasted. However the net result is less heat from the dryer enters the home so your main heating may have to do more work.

Looks like it's from the beautifully named Arçelik and Koç Holding Turkish company, better known for the Beko brand.
grundig.co.uk/abo…dig
So while they might go on about their German heritage, they're just another well known brand name sold off to some OEM company.

My Panasonic side by side fridge is also made by this company and so far so good.... but my honest opinion is that they're more budget than premium in most cases.... or 'value oriented' as a salesman might say.

Note that Currys / PC World often get exclusive models made for them, like this one, so they can heavily promote their price matching and promise this to be the cheapest price anywhere (because no other retailer will sell this exact model!) - usual sneaky sales tricks that they're always using.

This is the hybrid version.
They are Beko under the bonnet with 5 year warranty.

Exactly right! I have a beko glass gas cooker same as grundig model, i found out they are even built in same factory just branded beko /grundig, my beko was £200, grundig was more than 400.

Both A+++. And usually any triple plus a heat pump machines are alone Nove 800 avarage. Also I tought i could get £50 discount on orders above 600, but i could not Make It appear on the checkout. Do anyone think i can claim or wrong products?

The non hybrid GTN38250 often hit £400 but more recently has been over that when reduced.
That was the HGC model I think currys sold them off under £400 on ebay through Dec

newer one MGC has been more.

This hybrid typical yoyo price is £650/£550 less the coded discounts.making £520 a decent price with the code..
NOTE: These hybrids only give the low energy if you don't use the rapid drying heater.

if you want super economy without the convenience of hybrid(faster drying) then you may be better finding a good standard heat pump that should be cheaper.

For full loads on a 8kg machine rough guide to energy use based on grundig models
4.75kwh vented/condenser
1.96kwh HP
1.42 hybrid
2.33 hybrid(rapid mode)

payback per cycle
2.79 vented/condenser to heat pump
3.23 vented/condenser to hybrid
2.42 vented/condenser to hybrid(rapid)
0.50 HP to hybrid
.
Any recommendations for a cheaper one than this one, please? I'm still trying to decide this one or something less energy consumable. Any advice will be much appreciated.

I think beko is your option one A plus less and exactly same factory and only 2 years warranty. Which was my idea, but this grundig is quite a goid deal. For. Me.
This is going to be one of the lowest energy users and at the bottom of the price range of the machines that get the annual under 200kwh on a 8kg machine.

equivalent Beko DPHR8PB561W

non hybrid there seem to be no 8kg left(3bay might find one)
the 9kg GTN39250GCW is worth a look if you can find one under £450.
Know nothing about timber dryers but in the market for one due to the arrival of a baby in March, bought this based on your recommendation. Got an extra 8% off by buying gift cards though a scheme we have at work.
Thanks for posting.

This noisy heat pump dryer has several flaws that contributed to it being tagged with our Don't Buy logo. Not only is it slow, but it doesn't dry accurately or evenly, and you'll find your clothes are still damp when the buzzer sounds.

Doesn't sound great going by that. I googled reviews and they seemed generally OK. I've not had much confidence in which since they recommended the Nokia N97 over the iPhone, by far the worst phone I've ever owned.

I know, but thought i would give their opinion a heads-up,

It's slow, taking almost half an hour per kilo of cottons on the cupboard-dry setting. The sensors aren't very accurate, so clothes are still too damp when the buzzer sounds, and shirts come out of the drum with plenty of creases.
They're not dried evenly either, so you'll find a few soggy patches, even when other things seem dry.
This is a noisy machine, and considering the lengthy programs, you'll have to put up with the racket for a long time.
It's hard to clean the lint filter without spreading fluff all over the place.

Should I buy it?
No. Its cheap running costs are nowhere near enough to make up for such a bad performance, and this dryer is Don't Buy.

My dryer is in the garage, so I couldn’t care less about heat radiation from the unit. I reckon we do a load of drying per day also, so if the maths above is correct, id break even after about 15 months.

Seems like a good option
£468 for a A+++ rated 8kg sensor tumble dryer with 5 year guarantee sounds good
Everyone is focusing on just the running costs ....nobody is factoring in the cost of expensive clothes being shrunk by a conventional dryer, hence my intreest in heat pump dryers (which dry at a lower temp & are therefore much kinder to colthes)
