If drum size is more than adequate I say its good value for money. Yes there will be cheaper, but imo the 5 year warranty gives good piece of mind.

Takes 3 hours to complete a 40 degree wash - is this standard?

I didn't even know Grundig made washing machines! Wonder if they're any good? As they made in Germany?

I did a focus group on Grundig doing white goods in the UK last year. They are really popular in Europe but dropped out of UK when they stopped the TV's years ago. They are on par with Bosch, Miele etc and they are german.

Hope that helps.

Really?... I thought that they were part of the Turkish Beko Group.

Well they told us they were german made when we were at the group. They showed us pictures of the likely products they were introducing in the UK, dishwashers, washing machines and fridge freezers and they looked very modern like the above. The people they specified for the group had to buy miele, bosch and neff which I have and they specifically told us Grundig were a german brand so I don't know what has changed in the past year?

Reading this it looks like the german side of grundig filed for bankruptcy last year.

tat!

Rather get either the white or graphite Samsung Ecobubble 8KG washing machine from Currys at £449.

Grundig went bump in 2003 and the remains and trade name bought by the same company who make the Beko white goods. All made in Turkey another classic marketing ploy to give false impression that product is German.
Just like all the FAKE sale prices we are all (most) of us are becoming wise to.
