I got one of these a year ago... Great for when we're replacing water for our fish tank and we want the right temp....

What sort of things would people use this for? Cooking?

I used mine to pinpoint where my loft insulation wasn't working as well by testing the ceiling temp. It also showed me where drafts existed etc.

N.b. it ended up costing me lots of money as I checked how good my double glazing was and ended up replacing pretty much every pane of glass in the house when I saw the difference between old glass and new glass with a low u value. Net result, I'm poorer but house is significantly warmer and condensation on windows is a thing of the past on cold winter mornings.

I bought this last time it was posted on here from Rose gal and when it arrived it would only read in increments of 10 degrees. Took a good couple of weeks to get a refund from them. I've tried again at this price so have my fingers crossed it works.
is this what they use at airports with flights originating from ebola regions?
Thanks have ordered

Are you taking about triple glazing or a different type of glass?

Exact same one? Have you been able to test how accurate?
Note that this is for "objects", not for medical use.
Any idea of the actual temperature range?
I bought it. I am not sure whats the use..
Perhaps we can compile the uses ...
Of to Google now to find out

Temperature range: -50 to 360 Deg.C ( -58 - 680 Deg.F )

The same model is going on ebay for around £5 if you didn't want to sign up to a new site..
I use mine to check for air in radiators, just aim in the middle then the top, if the top is cooler it needs bled.. or maybe it's just my ancient rads lol
Use something very similar for our pizza oven, cracking piece of kit...heat!

Our insulation in our house is shocking, any tips?
''so handy in the house whe you have young kids"

Misleading description in the website.
It's used in my work place by maintenance man to check water temperature. I don't know what you can use it for in a household with kids

Different glass, as switching to triple glazing means new frames and although new frames are better, switching to new glass makes a huge difference at a far lower cost. I researched what was what and basically plumped for the best dbl glazed glass I could get. As the glass is so much warmer, it eliminates condensation on cold mornings and makes everything much warmer. U values are everything if you want to retain heat.

Re: the person asking about loft insulation, increase joist height add more layers of insulation and don't squash it down. It's labourous to do properly, but worth it.
Code not working for me 😞 showing at £11.57
Rosegal must be making a pretty penny from advertising its cheap tat here
Got mine to detect heat escaping , than my cat saw it...he had much better ideas for its use!

I will just use my hand even if i had it. Anyway I wont risk my child's safety with a £4 temp sensor

I find that although the temperatures are a little different when compared to a probe, these are very consistent, and give a very quick reading. I use them to check the temperature of oil when deep frying. Not tried this exact model however.
