Been looking for some RAM for a new build. Saw this and thought it was a decent deal. I'm making a Ryzen build so I don't think these will work.

  • DDR4-2400MHz (PC4-19200), 32GB (8GBx4), CL15-15-15-35, 1.2 Volt, Dual Channel Kit
  • Compatiblity: Chipset - Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform. CPU - Skylake (LGA 1151) / Haswell-E (LGA 2011-3)
  • Extreme performance DDR4 memory designed for gaming and PC enthusiasts
  • Optimized compatibility with DDR4-compatible Intel Core platforms
  • Sleek and stylish aluminium heat spreader design. 1.2V ultra low voltage. Intel XMP 2.0 (Extreme Memory Profile) Ready.

wow, now that is some sweet deal, even more in this market, £21.10 per 8gb.. nice find!.
Does Ryzen have memory specific requirements? I know 1st gen could be picky, but 2nd and 3rd i've not seen any incompatibilities, DDR4 is DDR4 unless i'm badly mistaken.

With Ryzen you do want something as fast as possible. Their infinity fabric is directly tied to how fast your ram is. Personally I'd recommend anything 3200Mhz +

This is silly cheap though.

If it's compatible it'll likely clock to 3000mhz anyway, but ye you are right, the faster the better.

Previous deal for it here hotukdeals.com/dea…629

showing oc to 2800mhz and someone claiming it's not ryzen 3rd gen compatible, live and learn I guess.

higher mhz such as 3000/3200mhz is the sweet spot for price/performance gain.. spec when it comes to gaming element. intel fine, however if ur making a nice office pc 3200g cheap is good, but its 32gb value good, but still 85vs 60 for less but not nec on lost in need, this is perfect for someone build perhaps 2 desktops and splitting, so i see this being bought more for resellers.

yeah. This is another reason why I wouldn't go for these. Definitely need 3200+

An old intel build just died. running on 1333mhz. So I'm hoping this new build is gonna feel a lot better haha.
With games touching 15-16GB usage, this should be a good deal, however only on Intel builds. Ryzen prefers 3000+mhz.

Any idea on how well this overclocks?

Genuine question, what games are seeing 16gb usage?

From previous thread someone said they clock to 2800

COD warzone will start hovering over 15GB after half an hour in game
This is cheap but I would recommend people to consider 3000 / 3200mhz+ now, certainly when getting so much ram. This is quite slow by modern standards.

You will be particularly putting yourself at a disadvantage if you are planning on using this with AMD.

I recently picked up 2x16gb 3200mhz for about £105 but I appreciate the market will go up if it hasn't started doing already given current climate.

Sure mate, I'm going to lie about my ram usage because it makes me feel better about myself

Im not going to argue, but that's what happened in my experience. Ram usage can vary from computer to computer, do keep that in mind.
