Just got my email about the new coupons starting on Monday and spotted what looks to be a good deal on the Gtech Air Ram.

I've been thinking about getting one for a while so looks like I'll have to pop in after work on Monday.

Aren't these supposed to not be that great or is that just Dyson propaganda lol

From reading and watching reviews on them, they seem to get a really good write-up but sadly I don't know anyone who has one to see the results directly, that's why I was price-watching.

I read somewhere that's these are a carpet sweaper not a vac so flicks up dirt instead of sucking it up and that the ideal solution was to actually have both this and a vac! Ones not a replacement for the other. Still keen to try one though!

I suggest you see how loud it is too before you buy.
near on blew my eardrums in the shop when it was turned on.

We have one of these and they are very good, ours hasn't flicked the dirt about at all, it has pretty good suction and isn't very loud, in fact I would say the hand held Dyson we have is louder. It is better on carpet than a hard surface, oh and it's a doddle to empty.

I also have one, very pleased. It picks up well and is very light and manoeuvrable. Also very easy to empty. Very loud though!

A relative if mine has one, it's very good. I saw this deal in the costco booklet I received this morning and am considering purchasing.
I don't consider it loud though, certainly not as loud as my Dyson!

I have one of these. Not what I would call a direct replacement for a vacuum more a much more convenient quick light version. I use this all the time to pick up dogs hairs and the bits of mud that drop boot this time of year. Can't say it's noisy, much better than the Dyson I have just no nozzle that's the only down side. Even some one with arms on a scale with a Tyrannosaurus Rex could carry it around it must only way about 10lbs.

We have one, and would agree they are very good, even better than my Dyson, but, this model is no good if you have pets, and a BIG BUT, you cannot return this item under the COSTCO guarantee, mine was only 2 days old and they would not take it back, so stuck with it .......

I had me of these and tbh I found it a bit rubbish, I replaced it with the Dyson handheld with pole and motorised brush and it is miles better in every way apart from battery life.

I've found the vax cordless to be very good, none of them have the suction of a mains powered vac simply because the power is lower.

Costco usually take anything back. why not this?

I've got one of these, they're awesome! best vacuum I've ever had.

return it within 2 days? They've no change of mind policy? Bit like Sports Direct then? . Thankfully most reputable retailers although not obliged to do so will allow you to change your mind. But remember if you order online regardless of what they publicly say you have the dtatutory right to change your mind within 14 days of ordering ( Distance selling regulations ) which no UK retailer can circumvent

Firstly, DSR?

Walk into costco, use it and take it back under DSR?

I don't think so.

As a glorified carpet sweeper the Air Ram is pretty decent light weight picks up dirt easy to move, The hand held gtech multi on the other hand don't waste your time it has no suck to it

Costco usually have at least 1 yr no quibble return, but the manufacturer of this will not let them allow returns for some reason, they now have a sign above it to avoid any further confusion

Allegedly, John Lewis have stopped selling the AirRam due to the number of faulty returns within their 2 year guarantee period. Possibly an urban myth put around by Dyson, but then the JL website does have some images of the AirRam on buying guides which now have dead urls.

i love mine, so easy to manoeuvre and great at getting my hair up, henrys demoted to a car vac living in the garage, i do have a dyson handheld that i use for the tools. be aware that gtech sell the newest k9 model for £199, that's the model i have and it is good on hair (mine not my k9s) i have no idea how it compares to the previous version, apparently its now made with titanium

mine had a sticker on saying contact gtech not place of purchase with any faults, i accidentally broke mine when i hovered my bed, heated blanket too....sucked it right up and overheated the battery, i called gtech who diagnosed an internal fault and sent a new chassis (hoover without battery) the next day, after my second call to say its still broke they sent out a new battery, the very next day, apologising because they didn't have graphite grey, so will i accept light grey until stock arrives, i got my graphite battery 2 weeks later, they asked could i kindly dispose of the spare chassis & battery myself.....so i ended up with 2 Hoover's & 3 battery's!

The opening paragraph on trusted reviews say it's not a replacement for your normal vac? No thanks. I'll stick with good old Henry

We've just got one from gtech... Gtech have released a v2. The v1 we had we exchanged under their 30 day money back guarantee for newer model ... The v2 is more refined, more freebies in the box and better at multi floors than the v1.. Both sound wise about the same, quieter than the Dyson... For me better than the Dyson too... So I'm guessing this is the v1 at Costco whilst they clear old stock.... Both good hoovers but go for the v2 if you can... Difference = v2 easier to empty, freebies in box, extendable handle, lights at front of hoover, better at multi floors... Carpets stripe better too... We also got quidco cashback of 10% on ours.. I'd recommend their lawnmower too if that comes on offer. Really good...
