Has anybody used this? I had a black and decker and its battery died after a couple of years. Not sure how this compares?

Same really. We have a black and Decker in the caravan and the battery is dire.
I thought this make weren't to amazing either but would love some feedback as really need to get something better to replace ours.

This seems a bit pricey too as compared to black and decker. I was contemplating on Bosch or going for black and decker again

Sibling has the MK1 and it's proved useful, and that was designed before they thought of adding a brushbar head, which sadly can't be retrospectively added to it.
The MK2's rotating brush will be a useful tool for stairs, car, mattress.

Charging the battery from empty takes 4 hours. Not sure if you can unplug the battery and charge it independently like you can with the MK1. (Yes you can. Battery has LED indicators so you can see where things are at.)

This has an on/off switch, MK1 had a pull trigger to activate the motor. Trigger is fractionally more efficient on battery usage, but it is more tiresome on the trigger finger during use.

If you use it around the kitchen an odour is bound to develop which means you'll need to wash/rinse/dry the filter meaning the machine is out of action for 24 hours.

Have the first Gen version of this and I would avoid. Bought in a pack with the Upright G-Tech Air Ram which is fine, but this has poor suction and is really not fit for purpose, certainly not worth the 100+ they are asking for. I am tempted to get a wired hoover for stairs/etc because this has been so poor.
Thanks @TopTrump@Moose2000 for your feedback. Will hold on then. I needed something for my car and has to be cordless

This should be good for the car as it has the brush bar (certainly one of the reasons I've ordered it). The suction power, I thought was good for the size.
It's an odd-job vacuum not a main vacuum replacement.

If not, take a look at Vax's range of cordless cleaners.
I have the Mk1 and it works great - I do only use it for the car however so if required for the house I can't comment but for the car it has been fantastic.
Only annoying thing is you have to keep the trigger in however the Mk2 I think resolved this
If you bought this whilst on the recent Prime Day promotion, check whether you've received the extension tube.

Mine came without one, despite the product being described as:
"
  • Cordless floor to ceiling freedom
  • Full set of attachments
plus a product photo showing the unit being used with an extension tube.
"

Amazon's customer service initial response was to defend that it was a wrong conclusion of mine and tried brushing it off as saying it doesn't come with the tube and that it was my mistake.

A "can I speak to your supervisor" conversation resulted in them acknowledging that the product description is either misleading or that the part was missing and processed a part refund.
(try your luck pointing them towards amazon.co.uk/Gte…1-3
a genuine tube listed at £35.99 to see if you can get those funds refunded.)

Went to Gtech's site where an online chat confirmed it should have come with the extension tube, and Gtech's response was to simply send one out to me.

So, if you've bought one, you know what to do...
