Welcome to HUKD @LordAJ and thanks for sharing a deal with us

I have the Gtech upright and handheld. I love them (as much as you can a vacuum). Wouldn't go back to Dyson ever again.

I also have both and couldn't agree more. Highly recommended!

Why is it better than Dyson?

Why is it better than Dyson?

I find it much better at picking stuff up and the battery life is so much better on the upright. Not really much difference between the handhelds but the upright is great.

Agreed the advertising is so poor. Comes across like a JML advert or similar and in my head seems like a poor man's Dyson (even though the products themselves could be very good/better).

Really needs to work on the branding, colour schemes and advertising I think.
I'd like to try one of these. Nothing wrong with my current vacuum though. Great price though.

I think they have done the advert how it is on purpose knowing it's 'cheesy' just so it sticks in your head. It' basically sold via word of mouth and recommendations. I think adverts arnt to sell products now but to just promote them and remind people of them

The guy is now a multi millionaire so he's doing something right...
Has anyone switched from previously using a Henry? I can't fault my Henry but these cordless vacs do look appealing

I have the Mk1 upright and handheld as well. I'm really impressed by the upright but got to be careful not to get anything trapped in the brush roll as it will burn out the gearbox cog. The hand held has good battery life but isn't as impressive wit the suction in my opinion. I have no idea if the mk2 of these, the dysons or indeed this one are any better. I think the dysons have lesser battery life.

I'm keeping an eye on shark as they are supposed to be quite good as well.
We had one and even though it said great for pet hair it used to cut out when hoovering the rug. Called them up andbthey said the pile of the rug was too long so it cut out as it thought the brush bar was stuck. I did love the ease of using it but if it wouldn't go over the rugs not sure it's worth it. Went back to Dyson and no problems there.

I can't lie, nothing beats Henry. However it' the ease of these which are outstanding. You can own a Henry and a shark/ gtech for less than a Dyson so it' all good
The annoying smug git in the advert will never get a penny from me.
I love a Henry. The new cordless version as seen here has me tempted. I know i'm old now when i get excited over a vacuum cleaner

Not to this one but have both a Henry (green Hetty acutally) and the Gtech upright and I much prefer the latter. The Henry is good at what it does but its quite bulky and I find the tools and wand really frustrating to use as its all friction locking and not a physical lock. So I often find the wands detach and fall to the floor and I have to hope that it doesn't damage it.
I have to say having a charged Gtech upright ready to go makes me more inclined to use it and just quickly do the floors in a minute or two. There is a mental barrier to getting the Henry out, getting the attachments in place, unwinding a cable and plugging it in (ok yes I'm lazy!).

This is not true. The battery life on this gtech is only comparable to the lower Dyson model, the V6. The V7 and V8 both have much longer battery life than this.

I've not seen evidence that this picks up better than a Dyson. But I've seen evidence Dyson picks up better than other cordless vacuums from other makers.

Still prefer the Gtech upright as there is no faffing with the hose/attachments. I guess that's more of an upright/cylinder discussion.

Vacuum god ibaisaic has reviewed the cordless Henry and he was impressed with the suction power and performance.

I use my Henry for work, I am a builder and I suck up dust/ rocks / money / people whatever is in my way basically and it still has the same suction as day 1. I have made a a light alteration by taking out the filter haha
already have a Gtech cordless and it's miles better than the Dyson but nowhere near as good as the Shark vacuums.

The motor on the Henry is only 250w. But the Dyson V8 is over 400w. So yet another cordless that can't match the Dyson on power and you still have to buy replacement bags for it.

Nv800uk is corded, so of course the suction will be better than any cordless vacuum. But we are comparing cordless here. No way is shark cordless as good as Dyson cordless.

Yes Henrys are a bit of a workhorse. I doubt the Gtech or Dysons would last 5 minutes on a building site.
I really need to replace my broken dyson cordless. Im tempted to try a new model but id prefer a model to at least dyson v7 standard. Is this the answer? ive seen deals on shark and vax cordless much less of a price, or will i stick to dyson?

I've had them all and my last one was Gtech K9 MARK 1 and after few months the brush bar constantly clogged with pet hair and pretty much anything though it's advertised as a pet vacuum!

Black Friday sales I brought the cordless blue SHARK it bends under furniture and omg the power is like nothing I have even seen or felt!
It actually takes ME vacuuming! It's like a turbo vacuum and that's on eco mode!
I paid £199 @ VERY but it's usually around £349 but was on offer again at very last night for £229.
It's a multi so a handheld as well so Bargain price.
Can't remember model number I'll have look!

Oh and the Gtech motor went a year in they just sent new base unit no returns as it's inherent fault. They then put the mark 2 out and waited out all the mark 1s two year guarantee and if in guarantee they did fix but if out of it they won't help.
dodgy as hell wouldn't ever go there again!

Is it the IF200? If it is, it's at Sainsbury's for £200, I've been thinking of getting one.
