I would stop before ordering this. Wait for after market 1080s before paying this much for one.

970 is already a capable card and will easily tie you over for a few months, I would wait for the new cards.

Still shows in stock for me.

Pity it isn't a 1070 Ti, hopefully we see them in stock soon.
Seen it earlier but playing the waiting game

I've been playing far cry 5 on high with my 970 at 1080 with playable frame rate. I would wait another month or two.
id probably snap at a 1070 ti @ 419 but not a 1080 when its nearly 2 years old.. lol I bought 1080 at launch for £625.. should of just kept it but hey ho

I have 1440p 144hz monitor. The way I see it, graphically intense single player games don't really require the high FPS. Even if you have to use high settings instead of ultra, the difference isn't that much. Definitely not worth £500 imo.

It's night and day between the 970 and the 1080. Feels like double the framerate. I made the move almost two years ago, never looked back.
Can't see anything about warranty 9n those cards ? If it's just 2 years, then resale value is rubbish. Mat as well get a second hand asus or any other strong brand still under warranty.
