About

CSSC South West have organised a return day trip from Poole to Guernsey with Condor Ferries and are pleased to offer members the chance to enjoy some time in the Channel Islands at almost half the standard day return price.

We will all board the ferry together as a group but you’ll be able to spend the afternoon exploring the island at your own leisure, and there will be an opportunity to take advantage of the duty free shopping before returning back to the mainland.

Gosh you get three hours in Guernsey and seven on the ferry. (edited)

Why do you need nearly 4 hours check in time on the return journey?
Seems rather excessive, as it leaves you only 3 hours to explore Guernsey.
Condor Ferries website says checkin opens 2 hours before sailing and closes 40mins before sailing for foot passengers.
    Is it a misprint? (edited)

I think it's 4 hrs until the return to Poole so around 1hr check-in time, same as for outward journey

Currently a CSSC member, would be great to give these more publicity though, as I'd say generally it's hard to find deals aside from the most obvious/marketed ones (Kew etc)

Does it still have the nickname vomit comet? The whole boat used to shudder off the coast of Alderney due to sailing too close to the rocks causing duty free to smash on calm days and lots of puking

... and for that reason, I'm out!

Watch out for any sign of fog, the condor fog horn is very loud you'll have a headache by the time you arrive at port.....

Fog! Hah! They cancel at the slightest fog, and if the sea is too wet

14 hours on a ferry in choppy seas throwing up and 3 hours on shore with only enough time to get to a chemist in St Peter Port and finding a toilet to hang over for thevrest of the time. Think I will stay home and watch the tennis !

you could practice your 24 hour clock whilst watching the tennis?
