Every home should have one?

I have a number of Guild tools (Argos and previously Homebase) and though they might be regarded as a budget brand I've had excellent service from them while doing a complete house refurb. I'd compare them favourably with my Ryobi drills. I've been tracking the reductions in the price of the 1.5Ah battery (see below) and just noticed this new addition to the range.

Professionals may mock (though I'd honestly say try them first for light duty use!) but for the DIY user this kit has to be good value even at this introductory price. With 2x good Li-ion batteries (Samsung cells), a charger and a large range of accessories, all in a handy case for not much more than the price of one battery for other brands. If you have other battery tools from Worx, Erbauer, Titan and others you'll probably find the batteries are interchangeable too. They work perfectly with my Worx strimmer, for example.

I've had B&D and even Ryobi rechargeables in the past when they used Ni-Cd batteries (a few cheap tools still do - avoid!). It's always the batteries which let them down and are usually unusable after a couple of years. Decent Li-ions like these are powerful and durable.

If you spend all day drilling into concrete lintels and the like you'll probably want to spend £150+ on a premium brand drill (or, better still, use a mains one where you can) but for someone who just needs something for household jobs half a dozen times a year this will be great, has good batteries which hold a charge and all packs away in good case - what's not to like? 2 year warranty too!

Additional batteries here at the astonishing clearance price of £12.99:

Who promised?

I've listed the battery and said it fits Guild, Worx, Erbauer and POSSIBLY JCB and Wickes (the last two were from second hand information). I said it needs to be confirmed. It's returnable to Argos. Possibly some Wickes are compatible and others are not if they are from different suppliers? I'll add more guidance to my battery listing.

orate, calm darn.... my own fault anyway, however spending another 59 quid to make some use of it is not happening, I'll wait til me wickes batts die then swap the cells over (though they aren't the same wiring layout either )

Why not just return it to Argos?

But it didn't fit so you couldn't use it so it's fine. Unless you've damaged it, in which case they either won't accept it back or it will get rejected somewhere along the line.
