Would this be suitable for dust extraction for power tools in a DIY setting (e.g sanding an Easifill patched room for 45 mins straight, which usually will produce so much dust you can't see further than 20cm away from you)?

I'd suggest getting a wet & dry vac with a power take off, so it only runs when the sander is running.

And either buy or make your own water pre-filter to trap the plaster dust so it doesn't clog the filter.

Get a vacuum with a socket for power tool take off so when you turn the sander on the vacuum turns itself on. May seem unimportant but makes life a lot easier.
You can get a Titan from Screwfix with power take off but the reviews don’t look great. The reviews for this outweigh the power take off - I would say...
