Bargain. I use mine more than I thought I would. Mower blade, chisels etc

Please follow the instructions and use them safely. Not such a bargain if you lose (part of) a finger or an eye (or worse!).

"Or worse" There's only part of my anatomy I care about more and a can't think of a scenario where it would come into contact with a bench grinder!

There are examples of more serious injuries, even one fatality, I think, from wheels that have fractured and sent out pieces at high speed. Normally, this results from sharpening items on the side of the wheel instead of the outside edge.
Cheers OP.

It should do. Would be pretty pointless, otherwise.

Want a nice fine edge just not sharp could not seen what grade the wheels are
You want a manual stone (or stones) for knives...
Thanks....this is just the thing to sharpen the mower blades!!
This is a bargain but be aware it will only be suitable for light usage.
It's way too underpowered for anything serious.
oos anywhere near me.

True. I tried to sharpen the wit of my co-workers but it had no effect whatsoever.

Out of interest what would this be ‘good’ for and what would it be ‘underpowered’ for? As a person that doesn’t really know about tools would be good to know
Will it be powerful enough to change the angle on my wood turning chisels? The manufacturers send them out with terrible angles so have to change some of them quite alot

I have one of these. It was bought 3 years ago for about £10, when Homebase dumped all their Guild stuff, but I've never clamped it to a workbench, so I've never used it! It's mostly for sharpening chisels and so on. HTH

Same as the parkside ones in Lidl, I got one of these and other than different colored - exactly the same. Lidls tools are Einhell, so going out on a limb, these are probably made by them....

I’ll try and answer your question as honestly as I can - I have this, well not the guild brand but a Macalister version via B&Q but the spec is identical @ 150w

I have used it loads of times for sharpening chisels, lawnmower blades, screwdrivers, taking burrs off steel and some wrought iron work.
For the money it’s been excellent - the trick is to go easy and let the wheels of the grinder do the work, some people may make the mistake in going hell for leather and putting too much pressure against the wheel resulting in lots of sparks and the wheels grinding to a halt.

If this isn’t a good enough explanation to buy one ( assuming you actually need one ) and you need that extra power for heavier work other then above then Screwfix do the Titan ( own brand ) one at 400W but that’ll cost you £40.00 ...prices obviously vary from different retailers..

Probably not.
Bench grinders are only £20 @screwfix.
If only there was an app to help locate this kind of equipment.

The OP gave a pretty good explanation.
It's suitability is basically inversely proportional to the amount of metal you want to remove.

Puntastic!!!

Anyway, cheers for posting OP, have reserved one. The saving on a new lawnmower blade when I can sharpen the old one will pay for this alone.
