Pretty sure this polisher will do the job with all the positive reviews it has. Start small and then add some quality accessories if needed and then it will be a great DA polisher. Lowest on Argos.

With high power and a slim design, the Guild Dual Action Car Polisher is suitable for polishing, buffing and sanding bodywork. It also features variable speed control for optimum versatility, and an adjustable front handle for maximum performance, low vibration and comfort. The set includes the polisher and 1 sanding pad. It is compatible with all brands of car polisher accessories.

The random orbit dual action means you won't polish the same section continuously, but it will oscillate in random orbits reducing the risk of damage to your vehicle's paintwork. It operates from the mains for continuous power, so you can use it for as long as you need to.

Guild power tools are built to last and come with a 2 year guarantee. So whether you are using a drill to put up a shelf or using a mitre saw to cut decking, you know with Guild power tools the products are built to last. Guild - for a job well done.

  • 2m cable.
  • Size H390, W150, D130cm.

Yes the demo car is not actually getting polished it’s just a prop for the photo description . And I would say Am not a novice at this waxing stuff but no pro. I am looking for a electric polisher due being struck down with illness otherwise I do love the work out of my car cleaning regime

Have you got one ? What type of waxes have you used with it, and have you made any mods to it?

I should've known that if I'd paid attention to the description lol. Thanks, just reserved
Bare in mind this is only a fraction of what you will need to spend if you intend polishing your car with a DA

Any polisher is capable of ruining the finish if the paintwork if it's not properly decontaminated first.
At the minimum, I'd suggest using a clay bar/mitt/towel first.
There's plenty of how to videos on YouTube.
Got it this time round!;)

Now, need to research best pads to go with it!;)

Thanks OP! 🙌

I got one (paid £50) and it makes maintaining the paintwork a breeze. At £33.33 its a no brainer.
Why is this expired?

In February I bought the Challenge dual action polisher from Argos reduced to £29.99..
Is there any difference with this one?
Good price but it's cheaper to buy the multipack sponges and drill attachment from Amazon, does the same thing but you can use your drill.

Using a drill doesn't do the same thing at all.

This is a random orbital polisher with speed control and a clutch.

They both polish the car so I'll stick with paying £12, my finger does the speed control.
Can anyone confirm if there is a polishing pad with it or as the description says a sanding pad?

Don't know about you but I don't want to sand my paintwork.

just opened mine, supplied with 1 foam polishing pad.
no sanding pad
the foam pad is yellow and looks quite fine so presumably a final polish grade

most pads are colour coded :

Black (Extra Fine) Polishing and Finishing Pad ,Provides a rich swirl-free high gloss finish
Blue (Medium) Light Cut & Polishing Pad, Final cutting, polishing or glazing clear coat surfaces
Orange Coarse Foam Polish Pad Standard grade cutting pad ,Excellent for enamels, acrylics and urethane
Woollen pad for Finish Polishing Excellent for hard topcoats and clearcoats
Red (Extra Coarse) Aggressive Cutting
Green Fine Foam Polish Pad Final cut, polish, finishing pad

I found that Autoglym Super Resin Polish is a good polish for beginners, don't polish your plastic trim though!

If you're using a drill + pad you may as well just do it by hand. Less chance of damaging the paintwork.

Rotary polishing should only be done by professionals. The chances of damaging the paintwork are much lower with a dual action.

Name 5?

Do it now!?
Some one on here said you can get different plates for this to use smaller pads. I can’t find the comment but anyone know of any links to the different plate sizes ?
Great bit of kit, bought a 5” soft backing plate some chemical guys hexlogic pads. Heavy polish light cut with some Poorboys SSR to take out very light swirling in my cars pearlescent paintwork. Used a light finishing pad & Meguiars ultimate finish polish on the wife’s new car which is factory fresh paintwork. Both came up absolutely brilliant.
I’d advise watching some detailing videos on YouTube before diving in doing staged corrections on paintwork

I did a wash, clay, polish, ipa wipe then wax

5/6” is a standard pad size for larger panels (bonnet, doors, wings etc)
3/3.5” is a spot pad (good for bumpers, mirrors, spoilers etc)

I have to agree, I've been looking around for one recently and pretty sure masliya is correct(I can't tell if tastemynuts is being sarcastic?). I've now got this DA polisher 2 days ago and closer inspection, this look identical to the following:

Halfords Dual Action Car Polisher 600w
GMC 673823 dual action 600W
VonHaus Dual Action 600w
BURISCH HDR2500 Dual Action 600w
KATSU 100371 Dual Action Polisher 600w
Sealey DAS149 dual action 600w

Probably more models?

If you take a look at the prices of the DA polishers listed, this Guild DA polisher at £33.33 is bit of a bargain. This might be useful info if anyone was/is looking at the other models listed.
Oh dear out of stock
