I've got a number of Guild tools and have come to trust them. 2 year warranties too. I noticed this cordless Li-ion screwdriver has 45% off at the moment.

I used to wonder what is the point of these little power screwdrivers as most drills can be used as drivers but when I had some rewiring done on a house refurb the electrician used one: he pointed out that a drill was far too powerful for tightening the screws on switchplates and similar and as he's doing this kind of work every day a power tool is a great help over a manual screwdriver. I can see it being useful for all sorts of hobby work on more delicate items too - computers maybe?

I did have a Ni-Cd battery one but, typically, the battery didn't hold a charge for long and died after a year or so. This one has the far superior Li-ion battery as well as a 2 year guarantee. Hope it helps someone!

If you're inclined to vote cold it would help people if you explain why - thanks.

Tiptop find and price, I have the fast charge version of this one (( paid about £25 for it )) and they are brilliant little devices, really handy for doing woodwork, especially brass screws and most electrical / pc building little jobs, also found it ideal for not applying too much rpm and pressure, when putting down floor dividers between carpets and really easy to use when putting up those pesky plastic sliding curtain/net rails onto wood
I've got one of these. Battery lasts ages and I spent all day last Monday putting flat pack furniture together with it. It was great
Excellent find :-)

I haven't voted cold Besford as I like your deals, but for me it's another one of those false economy deals again. Another tenner will get you this, for example:

amazon.co.uk/Von…J80

Pivoting handle, locking chuck, battery status indicator (not just a charging indicator), slightly more power, multiple torque settings, faster charge time, an additional led in the handle so it actually functions as a torch. Add a Giff Gaff sim card at 1p to get free delivery. I had an Einhell thing once that was very similar to the above and about the same price.

So it's another one of those; if your max budget is a tenner, then go for it. But if not, it's not great value considering the alternatives.

Thanks for that and I take all your points. I guess the balancer is that it's twice the price (plus shipping if you don't buy anything else). only one year warranty too. I'd say the Guild one for ocassional use, the one you've linked to for regular/professional use.

Thanks for the link, I've ordered the one from Amazon.

This is twice the price plus shipping. No point in posting that here. I would rather get a IXO over that anyway.

But for this price and for those who dont need it very often, this deal is super HOT
Are there any cheap AA NiMH powered ones that are worth having? We always have charged AA NiMH batteries ready, would make more sense for me.

Shipping's free if you add a 1p sim card. It's a matter of perspective- you see "twice the price", I see "only another tenner". If it was £100 vs £200 that would be a different matter.
The difference in spec for that extra tenner is like night and day. I was just (as asked by the OP) explaining why I was inclined to vote cold- to me a deal is only a deal if it offers good value, which I personally don't think this does relative to other alternatives.
And evidently there was point in posting it here as at least one person has subsequently ordered it

Well it's not particularly a "deal", it's probably always this price.

It may have been useful for one person who ordered it but you didn't put in effort to post a deal while the OP did.

So rather than posting in his deal, you should start your own deal and then we can see who deal gets more heat and most benefit for the community.

Perspective can be whatever but the fact is its twice the price and if you think its a better deal, just post another deal instead of spoiling someone else's efforts.

I've posted plenty of deals, if you want to talk about making an effort. I'm not interested in how much heat it gets- the OP asked for those inclined to vote cold to explain why, so I did. End of.

I take it you're having a slow day? Yes, which is exactly why you won't find me posting that driver I linked to up as a deal. Now goodbye.

Yes, all the same size (1/4"), but not all the same quality. But yes your Workzone bits will fit this one.

Does it all the time posting deals on original posts which turn out more expensive so no idea why thanksforthat does this as it doesn't have any positivity to OPs.
User should post his own deals separate rather than using others.

One thing I have found is not to just go buy heat achieved to find best deals, I used to do that and many of those things purchased have long since seen the local skip. I go by helpful post who explain things that I may have overlooked or not considered. In this deal I found both from poster of deal and a commenter.
Gone back to full price now so I'm expiring the deal.
