GUINNESS X MEATOPIA, the three-day beer and food festival, featuring never before tasted dishes from world-renowned chefs, paired with exciting beers is back.

Returning for its third year on 5, 6 and 7 July 2019, GUINNESS X MEATOPIA will transform the Guinness Open Gate Brewery, home to all beer innovation and experimentation at St. James’s Gate into a festival devoted to beer, food, fire, and music.

Beer and food lovers, rejoice! A small batch of early bird tickets are available to buy now.The special ticket price of €49.50 includes all the glory of full price tickets:

• Access to all that's on offer at this year's GUINNESS X MEATOPIA• Five unique dishes of your choice served up with five specially paired taster beers• A pint of one of the beers specially brewed for the weekend
The offer is running until Monday, but there are only a limited number of tickets available. Once the Early Birds tickets are gone, they are gone, so don't hang around! Full price tickets starting at €59.50 will then be released.

Fab deal.. try a recipe before you go, to get used to the Goodness in Guinness!

Pork Chops, Guinness Stout and Onion Gravy...

2 tablespoon olive oil
1 red onion chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 1/2 cups arborio rice / white rice
1 cup sliced mushrooms
125ml Guinness
1.25 litres hot chicken stock
24 freshly shucked oysters
1/2 cup chopped fresh watercress
Cracked black pepper to taste
Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon

Heat olive oil in a heavy based large saucepan.
Add onion and garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes or until translucent.
Add rice and mushrooms and cook 1-2 minutes.
Pour in Guinness and cook, stirring until all liquid is absorbed.
Add the chicken stock, a cup or so at a time, stirring and allowing
the liquid to be absorbed before adding more.
Continue stirring and adding stock until rice is plump and soft
about 20-30 minutes.
Stir in oysters, watercress, pepper and lemon juice and rind and
cook 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat, cover and set aside for 3 minutes.
Serve immediately.

I'm really annoyed my dates clash this year and I cant go but all the best to everyone who makes it. Guinness Storehouse hospitality events are always great.
So what are you actually getting for £50 ? On the face of it, it doesn't really seem that much as the website gives minimal detail.
Entry to the event with music, entertainment, bars and food stalls. 5 dishes of your choice all matched with a unique beer. Most of all it's a meat and Guinness fest. The big difference between this and say a street food event is that its top chefs cooking for you.
