I know this has already been posted in the deals request section but I've only just come across it on the Powerplaydirect site and thought it deserved to be a Hotdeal.

You can preorder Guitar Hero 3, delivered, from Powerplaydirect for £54.87 by using the code PP-02-DISCOUNT (2% off) at the checkout.

They also offer 4% cashback via Quidco which will bring the price down to £52.68

This is easily the best price I can find for GH3 in the UK at the moment.

Wait until Rock Band comes out, this'll probably be £30 by then. I'm not playing price wars because Rock Band got delayed.

As I said before (my post was deleted) £45 and we'll talk.

No way - gh2 is still around £55 even though its been out since march this year
Game maybe but not with the controller

Guitar Heroes 2 is currently selling for £69.99 in Game right now!

£53 is a damn cheap price, (i pre-ordered it ages ago when it was flagged as a hot deal) Rock Band is going to cost a lot more then that and they have a completely different set of songs.

GH3 is going to rock, plus it comes with the only official wireless guitar, Rock Band only gives you 1 guitar and it's wired, you can use the GH3 guitar with RB though..

Plus, GH3 has "Knights of Cydonia" and "The Metal" (by the D!)

If you get the Wii version then it actually works out at £50.95 (with the 2% voucher) and then you get 4% Quidco on top of that, bringing it in around £48.90 delivered. Best price I've heard of yet!

if you play on playing 2 player yeah that is a rip off as its an extra £30 on top of another guitar, but if your a single player then you get one with the wii so no bones there

Yeh i know but it should be the cheaper as the games less graphically enchanced and all you get is a guitar shell whereas the 360 + ps2+ps3 version are all wireless sep

Well, it is cheaper (apart from the PS2 version), going by the prices above. My Wii version will be about £4 cheaper than the XBox360 and the PS3 versions.

The Wii controller will have exclusive features that the others don't, like using the 'rumble' and speaker in the Wii remote to differentiate who's playing bum notes in the Battle rounds against another player. Also, the initial reports on the PS3 and XBox360 guitars is that sometimes the buttons don't register properly so at least my Wii guitar will work properly... :giggle:

Few people buy GH games for the graphics, it's mostly for the gameplay, I don't think the Wii will let people down at all as everyone knows it's less graphics intensive than other systems.

Personally I just don't feel I'm being ripped off, but others might.

The Wii version has no downloadable content at this time, might be something to bear in mind.

people ordered big stuff before from here, does the box arrived damaged?

I've only read positive comments up until your post, but how exactly does Rock Band jump on the GH bandwagon when it's the natural evolution from the developers of GH and GHII?

This deal has already been posted, a quick search would have found it:

I did do a quick search before posting it and the only mention I found was in the deal requests section.

Which is the best of these Guitar Console games to actually teach someone the basics of how to play a proper guitar, or are none of them any good for that purpose?

Any advice appreciated.

What its good for is the real basic of guitar, in that it might improve your ear for the beat of a tune....and help you with the basic hand movments you need for real thing...but apart from that IMO thats about it..

But its still jolly good fun for non and guitar players alike

Which game in particular do you mean saveuk, or do you just mean that they all do that?

All of em....

I think they all give you better sence of rythem, and would even go as far as it can build up your understanding of how a song is brought together..:whistling:

But I do find that when i play Guitar Hero, It feels more like you are playing more of a Drum and Bass line for a track ( all the power chords ) than the guitar rifts of the songs ( maybe i should get off novice mode mind..) :giggle:

That said in 10 years time some big band will be getting interviewed and will be asked "how did you learn to play" to which the answer will be "I got my skills from GH2"

Erm not for me it isn't. If I search on forum as a whole, with the search terms 'guitar' and 'hero', which is what I did, I don't see the post you linked to on the first page of results. If I search specifically in the Hot Deals section, which is what I should have done, then it only appears at the very bottom of the page. Maybe if I was aware of the original post and knew exactly what search terms to use to bring up the result I may have found it but as I was not aware of it (otherwise I would not have bothered posting it) I didn't.

I'm very sorry if me reposting this deal has somehow 'put you out' but as I said I did do a "quick search" and didn't see the original post. As I don't have all day to spend trawling through 12 pages of results when I'm only trying to do other people a favour I thought it was fair enough to post.
