Hi this is my first post so take it easy on me.

HMV currently have a sale instore with Guitar Hero 3 for £35. However in FEB issue of EMPIRE magazine (page 22) there is an advertisement for HMV but they have put World Tour image for £35 by accident instead of GH3.

Just take this ad to pc world and they will price match plus an extra 10% off taking it to £32.50. The great thing is that they phone HMV only to check stock not price and with the game still popular there is always stock so they have to sell it to you.

The ad shows the Wii version but it says available for PS3 and xbox and i had no problem getting it for ps3.

Hope this is ok,
Enjoy : )

can't be arsed to explain - will only get pathetic childish comments, but in summary: voted cold.

why whats up with it vibeone? Were you going to mention the immorality?

wow, sneaky, but a great deal! may try it as i already have that issue of empire! quality...

I just went to pc world (Beggers Bush,Sutton Coldfield) they checked on HMV website (£59.99) then they phoned the local Branch (Fort Shopping Centre) and they confirmed it was £59.99. I had the copy of empire, the manager said it must of been a special so he wouldnt price match it.
I then phoned pc world at Wednesbury and they did the same.

Sorry have to vote cold

yeah something along those lines. Plus I think most people will be turned away when investigated properly... we'll see.

I mean I'm all for getting one over on companies, but isn't this just theft from a company that actually hasn't done anything wrong?

I was thinking that but I suppose if you took the advert to HMV they'd sell it to you for that price in which case it'd be OK....

Sorry guys guess i must have got lucky. I went to the one in Tottenham Court Road.
I wont Bother with the scan then. Unless anyone wants it.

I dont see how theft even comes in as an issue. If HMV advertise a price and PC World match it wheres the crime? They both over price anyway. If FOPP can sell it at £35 and still make a profit im sure PC World arent gonna go bust.

well its at least borderline fraudulent. I suspect HMV will refuse to honour the deal (even though legally I think they must), and you are getting PC World to pricematch a price that isn't honoured elsewhere.

Having said that, if you've managed to find a PC World who couldn't even be bothered to check the price - then fair play to you I guess.

Don't worry about posting - plenty of these types of deals come up, and people usually take one side or the other.

Welcome to HUKDs!

FYI - no company 'must' honour an advertised price as it is what's called 'An invitation to treat', they only have to accept your offer to buy it at the price you state (normally this would be the advertised price). They can refuse your offer though and change the price at the last minute (although this wouldn't be good business if done on a regular basis).

I put up a similar deal before i saw this one, but a friend of mine works in the oxford st branch of HMV and said that his manager is honouring the miss price, so they will honour it if you show them the copy of empire, worthwhile as I picked mine up with student discount for £31.50
