How can anyone vote cold for this deal. 10 litres of great oil. Obviously they drive cheaper run of the mill cars

Perhaps you should put 10 litre in the title as people are probably just reading 5 litres

Excellent price for fully synthetic oil approved for use on the newest cars. Seriously considering this for when my new Golf R comes - to do a 1500 mile "run-in" oil change. Usually oil of this standard is £12+ per litre.

Your golf r won't need a run in oil change. Vw haven't done that for over 15 year's.

Excellent price for 507 spec (VW also call this Longlife III)

Heat added but would this work on a seat Ibiza? Couldn't find any oil finders on the site

It's not essential these days and certainly won't affect the warranty, but could be a good thing to do. I appreciate engineering tolerances are a hell of a lot closer than they used to be, but there's still the chance of far more carbon (due to the car being a lot thirstier on the run in) and metal particles in the first 1500 miles than probably the next 8500 miles to the first "proper" service. I usually change cars every 2 years, but I really don't think i'll get bored of this one as it's a fair bit quicker than my previous VWs - I reckon i'll be keeping this 4 years.

Depends on how old the Ibiza is, if it is less than 5 years old it will almost certainly use this oil. Look in your manual. If it wants VW 504.00 or 507.00 oil then this will do nicely.

On halfords they state we need

MOBIL 1 ESP FORMULA 5W-30 (a) 3.8
Castrol EDGE 5W-30
Mobil 1 ESP 5W/30 Oil 5L
Halfords 5W30 Fully Synthetic VW/Audi 2 Litre Oil
Castrol

Sorry didn't have a change is this the same stuff?

Good price For the 2 x 5ltr and 20ltr drum.

That's because Halfords don't sell the Gulf stuff, but will sell the others. It is the same spec and so it will do.

A rather silly remark. Do you run a Porsche, Bugatti, Ferrari or Rolls? If not, you've got a run of the mill car as well.

Brand oils are hyped by a lot of marketing twaddle, charging premium prices for an unproven 'premium' product. The big boys usually state they are 'better than the other leading brands', but when asked to send proof of such a claim you never hear from them again Leaving you just 'to believe it'.

Maybe a good price for Gulf, but still quite high for an engine oil (Be honest who NEEDS 507 oil, will your engine blow up/ get damaged if you put 505 in doing normal A to B driving? Plain overkill).

As long as engine oils meets the spec prescribed by the manufacturer and you change at the set intervals (mileage or time) EVERY brand will do.

Triple QX, fully synthetic, SN oil, GBP 12.49 (offer on this site too) for 5 liters including postage (rumoured by many to be made by Shell, but of course Shell will never confirm this (neither do they deny it)). For that money you can drop it after whatever mileage/time and put fresh oil in compared to none with the Gulf.
