I've been going out of my way to rinse all the freebies on his site... Downloading free books - and ignoring his attempt to "upsell" by putting paid-for 'sponsored' listings directly underneath freebies - goes a little way to offset his dirty tricks & failure to pay tax :D Thanks for posting this cleaner freebie option tho' O.P. Always a favourite for me - pretty much any book you've heard of which is out of copyright is up there including; Ulysses by James Joyce The Foundations of the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica by Isaac Newton (OK, it's in the original Latin!) Moby Dick; Or, The Whale by Herman Melville War and Peace by graf Leo Tolstoy The Iliad by Homer Jane Eyre: An Autobiography by Charlotte Brontë Frankenstein; Or, The Modern Prometheus by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley In fact all the titles as a student you'd want to leave lying round the flat to impress a potential partner! - yes, I've downloaded a few, I have to confess I've still not got round to reading the majority of them, but at least they don't take up shelf space! If you know your stuff, you can email the PDF versions to your kindle, or get your device of choice to do an "accessibility" speech from text and listen on the move. Why this isn't better known as a resource is beyond me, well, actually, I do know; there are vast commercial interests which offer these at 99p a poop and don't really care to mention they're free from elsewhere!

Awesome! Thank you so much. I had never heard of this site before. Have some heat! :)

It’s ‘Across Patagonia’ by Lady Florence Dixie. It’s her account of her time exploring the area in the late 1800’s.

Wowsers, that’s a great tip!

lol.. #2: You know my methods, Watson. This quotation appears in nearly identical phrases in at least five Holmes stories. While technically tied with the next passage, it's ranked second because early editions of the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations included multiple appearances of this phrase. "It seemed to me that a careful examination of the room and the lawn might possibly reveal some traces of this mysterious individual. You know my methods, Watson. There was not one of them which I did not apply to the inquiry. And it ended by my discovering traces, but very different ones from those which I had expected." The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (1893) Sherlock Holmes in "The Crooked Man" (Doubleday p. 416)

I did check the district but didn't seem like any other than a school. As 7day said I may just try a library anywhere haha

I use a kobo and library in usa

It's online, so you don't necessarily need to use your nearest library - you won't be going to collect the books, they appear on your phone/tablet automatically and vanish 2 weeks later automatically. For example your nearest library may be a sub-branch, or a mobile van - but if you go to the overdrive.com website and use "Find a library near me" you will usually see dozens in your region. You will need a current library card number though.
