Is this going to be an Nvidia Shield killer? No. Not a chance.
But ~£16 for a box running Android 9.0 with USB3 and 5Ghz wifi?
I'm sure someone can find a use for it.

Oooh tempting!
2gb ram though
Cheap but there’s always Amazon stick but New nvidia shield has advantages of solid features like Dolby Vision and excellent HD to 4K upscaling. Expensive tho.
What is this? Will I be able to watch you tube through it etc??
moneychop08/11/2019 20:05

2gb ram though

and the FireTV stick 4K has 1.5gb ram. The new (non pro) Nvidia Shield TV also only has 2 gb ram....
Heat, good price. Ignore the comments about low specs, you can't get everything for such a cheap price.

It's a box that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV, based on the Android system. You can load apps for streaming etc, including YouTube and 'TV' etc.
Is everyone giving out their passport info to this company so they can order ?!

Wow, that must be something new! Wonder why they've started doing that
They're *reasonably* reputable (there are 3000+ deals from them on this site) but I'd draw the line at passport details too.

I was going to use them for the first time but not now
These things still around .
I thought mag boxes put an end to these .
Or Nvidia Shield is the king of TV android ?
No requirement for passport details for me to order. Thanks for the deal!
Nvidia shield for me. Got loads of emulators installed on mine. Holding off on upgrading to the new model though.

Different league price wise though.

Oh yes, without a doubt. I had an earlier model of the H96 max for a few years and it was a great box and did everything i needed it to do. I was just lucky that I came in to a bit of money and had enough to buy a shield, albeit still a second hand one.

It's so, so worth it though. The "AI Upscaling" on the newer models interests me, but i'm in no rush to upgrade yet.

Im tempted to get 1 but trying to save but this site doesnt help with that.
Hi

does anyone know of an android box that receives regular updates, apart from the shield and the mi box. am a little tired of unstable grumpy android boxes that need rebooting often, but dont particularly wnat to spend a fortune, was thinking of the
mi box s, am just streaming (no gaming really), thanks for any tips

you don't necessarily need regular updates - i've had a few boxes and, at most, they've updated on average once in two or three years. i've had a few boxes over the years before i got a shield and i haven't had any trouble with any of them
The H96 ones like the ones in the OP are good.
Cheers OP. Ordered

Please save yourself £20 and get a fire stick in BF deals, i had this box for 2 months and ended up reverting back to my old box, crashes all the time, freezes and you will need a air mouse as the remote is hard to use. worse buy of 2019 for me, but the best buy of 2019 is my 2019 nvidia shield.

You could look into the Raspberry Pi with Kodi

Try this...Beelink GT-King Pro[Image]

They're a great box (on paper) and Amlogic chips are a personal favourite for media decoding.
*however* that box is 7 times the price.
Personally, I just wouldn't spend that much on any chinese box - might as well go full-hog and get a shieldtv.
Tempted to keep as a spare...

Heated OP.
Good price, but Rockchip

For about £19 you can get a hugely better amlogic s905x3 box with 2/16gb or £22 for it with 4/32gb. It'll be much better and can run coreelec which is brilliant. I have older amlogic boxes running coreelec and can do 100gb 4k hdr 10bit h265 files with HD audio no problem. If you want it for kodi this will match a shield for less than 20% of the price.

I’ve got this android box just with the 4gb ram and 32gb rom. The best and fastest android box I’ve ever owned

Can you point me to a s905 4/32gb for £22 please ?
Haven't looked at one of these things since I brought my Nvida Shield a couple years now

are the newer android boxes really any better than the mx3's mxq's mx3 pros of a few years back ?

i see what looks like similar specs of processors and gpu's and ram

i suspect that the software makers are just not adding driver support for the older boxes and forcing people to keep buying the newer ones, i must have about 5 or 6 versions of mx boxes sitting gathering dust, nothing physically wrong with them just cant run newer versions of kodi and android, feels like bullcrap

I have this box but with the 4/32gb and it’s the best android box I’ve had by for and I have owned about 15 different boxes over the years. This one is on Android 9 so it will last for years with Kodi and it is really fast
