Seriously considered this box when it was released at £70ish. Ended up buying the zidoo x9s due to having support and firmware updates. Bought direct from zidoo fulfilled by Amazon for £119 for peace of mind. Just checked and it's still the same price. £90ish quid from Gearbest.

If the H96 pro was anywhere near this price at the time I would have bought it.

Good deal

It's showing as £53 for me.

You can play games from the play store, put emulators on it... not that far of a stretch.

Several recent reviews saying 'non working power leads and remotes' being sent out with the H96 PRO PLUS Amlogic S912 Octa Core 3GB RAM 32GB tv box from Banggood
They have also refused to send anyone working replacements

I have this box, bought for £60 8 weeks ago. Brilliant box and hasn't skipped a beat. Haven't tested it on games etc but reviews say it'll handle anything you can throw at it.

Use the cheapest non tracked option. It will reduce the chances of being charged import duty.

I presume both the options above aren't tracked and free shipping.
The other option is EMS Express @ £10.18.
I'm sure I've just gone for the Air Parcel option last time I ordered from them.

I own two of these. I bought one about 9 months and mainly use it for kodi. I ended up buying a second one a few months ago and bought a second one with a discount code for about £35.00. Both are super, fast and compact. Highly recommended.

I'm on my second one from Bang good since it was last around this price, possibly 3 months ago. First one died very quickly, second one has failed twice but this was the power supplies. Ie the one from the first and second box, a they sent me a replacement without quibble. They also sent me a power supply at no extra cost. Haven't used it much since as been using plex on my tv but it's still powered up and online. So fingers crossed it survives. My son in law also bought one for full price from Amazon and his power supply also failed. So be prepared for problems would be my advice.

Have this box...

Its been flawless up until today but I would still consider it, the power supply isn't good enough to power it properly (usual crappy Chinese overrated PSU).

It sent the HDMI into a frenzy when it blew and couldn't get it to power up with new PSU there was a clicking sound and the optical light was flashing strangely.

Got it working in the end and with all that said at this price I would consider it but be aware of the power issue and also consider changing the supply from the off.

I checked YouTube for the fix and there is a wealth of videos showing this issue. I also drilled holes in it as it is not well ventilated and uncovered the hidden or covered USB connections.

Ive got this and it worked fine at first but now just restarts itself all the time and crashes/freezes without warning. I've read it's to do with the power supply? I've since ordered a T59Z plus which is supposed to be much better and good support and updates

Also this is well supported with both ATV and normal Android 7 firmwares for multiple box versions and Netflix support.

I had this box from a deal posted on here and it was £38. I was upgrading from a firestick to this and the improvement was so significant! Only issue is after a week the power supply went and I had the same clicking noise and flashing light someone else mentioned above but I had no idea what it was and dealing with Banggood was an absolute nightmare. Ended up buying a nvidia shield which is the best box you can get. Ended up the power supply was faulty so bought another for a few quid and moved the box on but if you don’t wanna spend the money on a nvidia shield then this is fantastic.

Would you guys say that this box is great for Emulation? PS1/PSP/Snes/GBA etc? Also would a wireless Xbox One S work ok with this via Bluetooth? Thanks

The answer to all your questions is yes providing you use custom firmware. Everything you all need to know for upgrading this box is here

Anybody have a link for the latest firmware?

netflix on the h96 pro + is not HD. you have a choice of atv ROM, or android ROM.

m8s pro L (or m8s pro + or kiii pro dvb) all have widevine level 1 and hdcp, so will play full HD netflix. and is has nougat officially, and it is a hybrid ROM, so has best of both.

go look on freaktab, even the people making the ROMs for these cheap boxes are saying that the m8s pro L is the best box on the market.

i had a wetek play 2, but was single tuner, yes it recorded. I sold it for £90 having paid £110 over a year ago. The kiii pro has freeview and freesat, but isn't dual tuner, costs £85. the ki pro and kii pro are also single tuner, but is about £55. Be careful though, the ki pro and Kiii pro have widevine level 1 and hdcp, but the kii pro does not.

Thanks for answering my question :).

I see a lot of reviews on the site about the box not working anymore due to the power supply not working anymore.
Something like it came with a 5/0.25v power supply and needed a 5/2.0v or something, also the temps are hitting 80c on some boxes, one of the reviewers had to install a newer fan to fix the issue so i saw. Any alternative box to this? I'm after making an emulation box basically + Showbox etc on it

Thanks ordered with quidco offer

My power lead stopped working after two weeks and a replacement from amazon didn’t work either - suspect the duff lead had somehow zapped the innards of the box. I paid £40ish for mine and couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of trying to return it given the resistance others had met e.g. needing to get a courier to return it to China etc. Ultimately I sold it as a non-working item for spares on eBay and bizarrely somebody was willing to pay £25 for it!

I have this box, use it all the time, I have 2 other boxes and a firestick, this is by far the best. Never had any problems with it overheating etc etc , bargain at this price.

You've been lucky or just not pushed the box that hard. Have you the checked the temps? People regularly report 80-90C when driving the box hard. This is far too hot for a long happy life with stable running. As a ref a pc running at 60C is considered the maximum safe temp.

I have 3 of these boxes 2 of which are left on permanently with no power supply issues to date. All are from Banggood. All 3 have been modified replacing the useless CPU heatsink and cutting a hole around the new one to let heat escape.
WiFi is hit and miss depending on where the manufacturer decides to stick the antenna. I have moved all my antennas outside the box as there is enough cable to do so.
Now add you custom rom and you have a very powerful little box that runs cool (eliminating random crashes) and has no Wifi dropouts..

In a nutshell a very good box with great potential but in stupidly designed case with poor antenna placement.

How do you push the box hard?

Which is the most stable rom/firmware for this at the moment and can you please provide some links on how to set it up right (mods and software).
