I quoted this the other day
This article about Amlogic S905, S905X and S912 processor speeds is interesting http://www.cnx-software.com/2016/08/28/amlogic-s905-and-s912-processors-appear-to-be-limited-to-1-5-ghz-not-2-ghz-as-advertised/
One comment from diegor says: "The trick here is that Amlogic kernel reports 2.02 GHz, even through it’s apparently not running at that speed. That’s why it took so long to discover the issue, as people needed to run benchmarks at various frequencies to find out."

Is there anything with these specs + wireless ac?
General concensus for Gearbest items ex-China is that unless you request big-name courier delivery such as DHL or UPS, the other shipping methods (including "British Express") do not tend to be pulled by customs. There was/is even a HUKD user who guaranteed that an item shipped via a non-name-courier would not attract customs interest! My own experiences of many orders with Gearbest tends to support this theory.
If customs charges are applied, the cost would be VAT (about £11) + shipper's admin fee (about £10), so around an additional £21 assuming customs accurately assess the value of goods+shipping.
actually it will be much less. I got £100 box a few years a go via dhl. Was £5ish. they put the item value on the front really low, not the actual price you paid.
None of the S912 firmwares come with a working navigation/notification bar and a few other omissions, so I made a modded firmware that at least resolves a few issues.
Auto adjust display rate is not working, whether in firmware of Kodi/SPMC in all firmwares.
It looks as if the SDK needs some improvement before things can really move forward but the S912 has possibilities, especially with the updated GPU.
Where the S912 really shines at the moment is in regards to it's video colour quality, which has great depth and has only been matched by my Rk3288.
When using Kodi, leave the amcodec switched off and with SPMC, switch it off as it has no use with these latest SOC's and will prevent video from showing with some formats. SPMC yields slightly smoother results than Kodi 16.
There is a lot of talk at the moment about the actual speed of the CPU, which has been advertised as 2.0Ghz but may, from tests that some have run, to only between 1.5 and 1.7Ghz with a sort of quick burst mode that can reach 2.0Ghz for brief periods, although as far as I am aware, confirmation from AMLogic is still forthcoming.
Mine came though DHL and I ended up paying a whopping £21. £9 duties and £11 DHL handling payment, which was very unusual as the last box I bought only added £3.50, which I didn't mind paying.
Surface shipping is the delivery method least likely to become subject to duties.
you dont have to pay that handling charge you know:)
your contract is with Gearbest not DHL...if you have paid it then it is to late, but next time refuse and email them citing there is no contract with you and them and you suggest they go to Gearbest for their handling fee
works 100% of the time, apart from parcel force who kidnap your goods until you pay
Oh I tried that and they would not budge and if you look at their terms and conditions, they can charge it if they like and there is nothing that can really be done.
For some reason his thread says £54.71 (?) and not £54.87.
No. None of them will have the necessary widevine level support and are probably unlikely to get it for HD, let alone 4K.
probably need a fire TV box from amazon for that. though chromecast new version rumoured...
Even then, only at 30Hz.
Why do you need that for a TV Streaming box?
Have a look at wetek, they have what you're looking for

I think wetek has Android 4 so not very upto date
didn't know that. thanks!
Well I'd like the ability to watch a show while browsing.
it's illegal in the uk to charge handling fee for postage, some old postal law from ages ago.
their terms and conditions don't mean anything.
but it is difficult to fight with their workers who have no clue.
I did some digging and spoke to a friend who works at HMRC who confirmed that fees charged for paying the relevant duties and handling is something that many a delivery company (including Royal Mail) do and is perfectly legal as far as they are concerned.
Weirdly, one reviewer also thinks the GT1's remote isn't as responsive as the older one supplied with the MiniMXIII or MiniMX.
No idea if legal or not, but HMRC would be the last people to ask if you wanted an actual answer to this. He/she wouldn't have a clue about whether the company has a right to charge this....only the fact that they can bill for the service and that the income would be taxable as a valid service as incurred regardless of whether the actual activity was legal or not.
