No animal should be in a cage!
Totally unsuitable for a hamster or mouse. 80 x 50cm is the minimum unbroken floor size they need.

Totally agree in principle, i'm a vegan animal rights advocate, but i also rescue hamsters and guinea pigs and as you can imagine, it wouldnt be safe for the hamster or pracical to have a hamster free roaming the house.
I build custom enclosures for them that are far larger than anything that can be store bought or even ordered online, but for someone buying a standard enclosure/cage, Zoozone Large is the best option. I'd only recommend adopting of course, not buying from a pet shop

When I was younger I had many different pets, but as time past I felt I didn't want any animal in a cage and just felt sad for them. Certain animals like hamsters there is no choice if your going to keep 1. The worst is any kind of bird as they can't fly and be free

lol. Good luck with that idealistic notion. The cages just need to be a bit bigger. Thats a more practical kind of protest. Cause many pets do have to be in a cage actually. For numerous practical reasons.

Hense why I don't keep pets at all. That's the point I was making.

I understand your point but if you can rescue animals that otherwise have had little chance of a good life, its an ethically sound thing to do

Dog breeders, pet shops and designer pets on the other hand....

Some animals accttually appreciate having a safe, warm cage. I've got pet rats at some point one was clever enough to learn how to get out. She became free range rat and was getting out whenever she felt like... But... She would never escape, she was always coming back and spend whole night in the cage. I don't support buying from pet stores but I think there's nothing wrong in keeping some pets in cages as long as they got good care and suitable cages (the one in the deal is not suitable for anything).
