That keeps your food fresher and tastier for longer. If you're forever hunting for the frozen peas, you'll love the Direct Access freezer drawers – they let you see what's in your freezer quickly, so less cold air will escape while you're looking.

Are there realistically any more energy efficient models out there at a decent price?

I bought the Bosch 413 Litre 60/40 Freestanding Fridge Freezer With VitaFresh - Stainless steel
KGE49AICAG from John Lewis for £675.
The price on John Lewis on this goes up and down and there is a very similar model 70/30 split with slightly different model number (AW in the middle rather than AI )
This Bosch model should use 163 kwh a year rather than this one from currys that uses 298 kwh per year. When you start considering the proposed electric price rise to 51p when the current cap ends the Currys model will cost you £151 a year to run rather than £83 for the Bosch .
On the current price cap the Bosch is costing us £55 a year to run. If we had this one from currys it would cost £101 a year to run.
The price on the JL Bosch one has rocketed to £799 but will soon drop again .

Question to owners if I may... how do you find the large pull out freezer drawers compared to the usual "internal" drawers/flap behind a door?
    Bigga's avatar
I find them very sturdy and loads of space for a family of 3

I have had this for 15 months. So far its great. I paid £566 but would pay this if I needed another one.

It says 'claim a 5 year warranty ', is that legit?

I’ve got the one with the water dispenser (similar model) I’ve had it 3 years, totally recommend x

Waste of space, had one on an old fridge and regretted it. Look away so much space inside, couldn't buy the larger milk

Showing additional charges for delivery for me. Am I doing something wrong?

How do you get a discount code for £50?

What is blue light card and how do we apply to claim a discount ? (edited)
    twe's avatar
Blue light card is when you work for public services like fire service, nhs, police etc. Sometimes people can share codes of they are not going to use them. No idea if this would be the case.

Shame this is a 70/30 split otherwise hot.

    - How is Haier for reliability? What are other good brands to consider?
    - Do people use the water dispenser or is it a gimmick?

    Thanks for your openions

I bought a higher end model to replace a 5 year old Samsung and very happy so far. Not too noisy, keeps the temperature very well and humidity + fresh box are superb. It may be worth hunting for deals on the HB20

Pretty sure this is the one I have. Had to take the kitchen door (standard size) off the hinges to get it through. I found the door seal flaps were very thin and eventually ripped and came away so have had to make do and mend. Contacted Haier but got no response. Despite this, happy with the purchase. Think I got it a bit cheaper about 2 years ago.

Ah, not quite the same model. Do look very similar though.

Description above says suitable for outbuildings, but the site says otherwise.... Is it the right description?

Poor quality fridge… had ours for over a year, seals have broken around the front doors, and now the door isn’t closing properly…
    Cheap for a reason!!

We've had this fridge for a couple of years. One door broke, but the warranty kicked in and an engineer came and got it fixed in no time at all. no problems since then. light is very good loads of space inside to separate meats, dairy etc.

Does it need any installation? I am planning to buy this for a new home and need it be a free standing. Is it worth paying £40 for installation? I am a newbee for the electricals and the power outlet is available in reach, can't I do it by myself?
    RJO's avatar
Can't personally see why you'd need to pay for installation. We've just had a similar discussion and concluded that it's either a generic thing for large kitchen appliances, or possibly because some of the larger American style fridge freezers need connecting to a water source to make the water dispenser work.
