Can anyone tell me whether these cheaper brand ones are anything in comparison to LG/Samsung? I'm moving soon but abit wary of taking a punt on a huge ass fridge freezer!

I have a Haier fridge from co-op. Some aspects of it do feel a little 'non-premium', you get what you pay for I guess. I came from a smeg which was not frost free and therefore a pain.
The freezer had an issue where Ice built up on the fan and it made a terrible racket. I called coop and within a week it was diagnosed and fixed - a known fault with the pcb board. Since then it has been fine.

I have a American style fridge freezer from Haier purchased from Co op. I'm happy with it but few months ago the thermostat stopped working, got in touch with Haier who sent out an engineer, he checked it and said the fridge had to be replaced. They gave me a reference number that I had to give Co op and a week after the engineer visit Co op delivered a new fridge.

Good point. I think the good brands come with a long warranty which in my opinion is quite good.

Samsung's are quite durable and i wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

We have a Haier fridge-freezer (not an American style one) that we bought from Currys just under four years ago. It's been just fine. It's quiet, cold and frost free. I would buy another if it ever conked out.

Will throw my hat into that ring as well. Had a Samsung American fridge freezer coming up to it’s 10 year anniversary. Things never let me down, or even looked liked it was giving up the ghost. It’s moved house with us and still going strong. Has both water and Ice dispensers, again with no issues at all.

I do think that most fridge issues/faults are purely down to bad luck. Don’t think any brand can wear the ‘avoid’ badge.

For £425 though, you could pick up a more ‘luxury’ brand name. My point above still stands though.

For a Samsung American style you're looking upwards of a grand.... I really can't decide! Been looking at hisense ones too

I picked mine up for £500 back then... inflation has hit the fridge industry hard

Again, as long as the fridge meets your needs in terms of capacity and features etc, then I don’t think buying a premium or midrange brand will make it any more or any less likely to develop a fault etc.(y)

I've had a problem with this fridge freezer when I first bought this. The fridge was freezing everything at the top half. Co-op or Haier wanted to replace it but I said no it took forever getting it inside the house. So they went and fixed it. No problems now after 6 months of owning it

Don't forget tcb

It makes me laugh calling it non premium. They own Fisher and Paykel as well as GE. Biggest white goods manufacturer in the world. They can be very premium, however, for the cheapskates they also make to price. This is what you have here....Next year all these "cheap" deals will be gone so fill your boots...The pound is too weak globally and we will all be paying for it

It's not a premium brand or model, below a Samsung/LG in quality and anyway at best Samsung/LG are mid range quality even the premium models, you will be lucky to get this repaired beyond 2 years. Samsung are well strict 5 years nowadays and key parts start to become obsolete sooner on some Y2 models so you'd be in the same boat with the Haier.

If you want a quality one grab a Liebherr or a Miele which are made by Liebherr as well, more expense I've much much better appliance.

If your after a better quality Chinese AFF then go for a Hisense they are better but both companies use JTM for their UK repairs if I remember correctly for repairs which mean ahem, not good service.

Personally, I am not big fan of Cheap Chinese products and wouldn't spend more than few 10er on small product like small speaker or power bank etc. I am not risking my money on goods produced by state funded corporations with no clear vision on how profit / income generated being used for (grabing some Island/s).

It really surprised me looking at company profile on Wikipedia. I guess good for those who loves cheap Chinese products.

Haier isn't really a cheap brand just they don't sell the high end lines products here yet, my parents in China are using Haier's new model of fridge with very new funtions like soft freezing and smart degree special design to keep fruit and food fresh ,wifi and order food online automatic etc which i haven't see much here in UK retailers, same the oven i like my parents' new Chinese oven it has a built-in camera so you can check your food with your phone,i wish i can buy them here

£5000 for a Sammy with built in lcd display.
It takes a picture of the contents everytime the door is opened.

You can also have a look when out on a shop.

I recently got a swan one from very for £450 delivered once the 20% discount for first order was applied. 12 months interst free.

ovens.reviewed.com/new…ven

We will get the ovens. Also a video on youtube.
How do they stop the camera getting hot?
Unless it is on the outside.

Connected appliances are just gimmicks no market for them in the UK or Europe and that's why you wont see them and those that do release them its at stupid premium.

Not seen any Chinese products to the quality that can be made by top brands, I am no premium man at all, I don't have any big brand products because I hate the hike in price they put on an appliance just for a name.

Chinese stuff can look as good as the premium but its all off the shelf stuff no real design internally to get a better working product.

I understand the logik brand from currys are made by Haier (about £20 more as we speak). I have been looking at this model as it is smaller than most ie 65cm deep ( the logik is 64 as i measured it in store) most are 70 plus so this one is great if you dont have as much space EDIT the logik has been reduced to the same price

Have had an older Haier American style we bought in Germany 8 years ago that hasn't missed a beat. That's despite it being hauled around the continent, back to the UK and then a couple more times. Has a few bumps and scrapes but performs impeccably still. A bargain at the £400 I paid back then

I've got a Logik one which looks similar, without the water thing on the front. Got it a year ago and it's been ok up to now, think it was about £380 though.

Where is the 20 % discount code ?

I don't have this particular model but I have a non-american Haier fridge freezer and also a Haier washing machine.
Both replaced previous Samsungs that I'd had nothing but trouble with - I find the quality pretty good, and the customer support if you do need to call Haier (I was initially missing a instruction manual) excellent.

Haier is a good brand

What Chinese stuff not quality, if they want to meet a market price they sure can, only have to look at the phones from their. They had the earliest most developed country when we were in mud huts(not me personally).
To keep your fridge working well make sure your door seals are good and once a year give the condenser on back a clean with small paint brush then vacuum it. Have made a cupboard above our Samsung A/F but left an air gap between wall and cupboard and also took of cover of the back, poor ventilation is a potential killer of fridges.

Bought this around 4 months ago, it's a cracking product for the money - we paid around £500 I think

Bought a Samsung American style 9 years ago , still going strong but it was double the price of this .

Specs say no water/ice dispenser - so what's that hole in the front of the door for?

Bought same model over two years ago still running never had any problems

Ordered and just took delivery today. Delivery guys were really helpful - arrived on time, unpacked, positioned and took away all packing. The fridge itself looks really modern and has a very nice subtle pattern to the chrome exterior. I was a little worried that it might need plumbing for the water dispenser but it doesn't. You just manually fill a dispenser inside the fridge door - about 2 liters I'd say. Both fridge and freezer are spacious with lots of shelves. Good LED lighting, and very quiet when running. Don't be fooled by the low price because it looks like a quality item. Comes with a 2 year guarantee but hopefully will last much longer than that. A real bargain at this price. Thanks for the posting.

Thanks for posting .
Ordered and coming on Tuesday .
Mine one after code 439.99
Price gone up or wt happen?

By the way heat added thx

I want this but I'm kinda worried that it won't fit through the door Is there anything similar but modular? I don't see why the fridge and freezer sections can't come separately
