the problem with grain whisky is that it is always very rough, like the worst grappa you can buy in Italy, regardless of a nice blue bottle

grain whisky = industrial whisky

it's the bulk stuff they put in (as in 90%) into a blended whisky, ie the other 10% is single malts, the quality stuff

rough as ****
just to be clear, this is the Clubman variety, not the Club single malt which is £35.
Clubman is often available at this price, Tesco and Amazon
it's always £15 somewhere. it ain't worth even that ( nor is it's bigger bottled brother) 100 % cheap and nasty grain whisky in a nice bottle or to put it another way, a turd rolled in glitter.

You can get a perfectly decent blended whisk(e)y in the same store for the same price. Bushmills Irish Whiskey !!!!

avoid this at all costs and don't fall for the slick marketing and shill reviews online

Yep sorry didn't see it when I searched.. also not a huge whiskey drinker, but this stuff went down smoothly and the alcohol high was top notch.

that's cool. thanks for posting. I suspect you were lured by the £25 crossed out and £15 for a great looking bottle. try Bushmills at £15 next time you will I'm sure find it much smoother

Ignore the haters and the smart fundamental orifices, this is an excellent tasting whiskey and good value for money. You'll always get the fools and know it alls.

Agreed on the Bushmills . Very nice
Not the best whisKY....go for a single malt instead, usually a few reasonable ones around the £22 mark.
Best GRAIN is the Ballantine's...often reduced to £15-16 in several supermarkets...now that is a a really nice grain!!!

Correct and correct

The Mrs was lured by the bottle and myself by the price. Will pick up a bottle of bushmills next time though, thanks for the advice

Just looked up Ballantine's, says slightly smokey whiskey, sounds interesting. Will keep an eye out for that one on sale, cheers
