Why is this controller more expensive than the console? :O
I added heat as the end part of the title wasn’t showing when scrolling through the deals

I wish to withdraw my heat as this part of the title “when trading in a working elite series 1 controller” makes this a cold deal (imo)

Damn what do you guys do with your controllers, still rocking the first elite for almost 3 years zero issues.

Trade in price says £70.00, pay £79.99 controller is priced at £159.99 am i missing something

I believe so. Specially for the build. Also better trigger stops and the sticks can be changed to feel more or less tighter when using them.

My grips have come off. I haven't tried myself if they will take it but I guess not.

They may give you something off but not the full half price.
That’s an awesome deal!! Especially if you have an older elite one out of warranty etc......not sure how long it’ll last blah blah.
No deal here. They’re just giving you the 2nd hand value and taking it off the price of the new one...whoopie!
I got a brand new elite controller probably not worth a swop

Same, the grip is really poor for such an expensive controller. Common problem I think.
I don't think it's that bad. I really want the series 2 controller, and I'd be surprised if anybody was to give me £80 for my gen 1.

I'm off to make a decision, in the mean time, heat added

Nice. Wish my series 1 wasn't falling apart haha

I've had the white series 1 since last Christmas and touch wood have had no issues to date. My black series 1, however - well that's a different story
Series 1 was so poorly made, I returned mine & purchased a Razer Wolverine Tournament Edition instead. Will be interesting to see if series 2 doesn't fall apart in you're hands.

Yeah. They have said its alot better designed. The grips go all the way around now too so should stop them falling off.

Swap it whilst you can, my elite controller didn't last more than three weeks of actual use before the grips started peeling and stick drift. Hopefully the second elite controller is better quality otherwise trade it in when you can and get a high end third party pad. Not many people will even have a fully working one to be able to trade in.
Where is this offer? I can't see it anywhere on the page.

Must of been lucky with my Elite 1, been abused for 3 years and still in almost mint condition.

I sold my Gen 1 on Sunday for £85 on facebook and my Elite 2 came yesterday.

Im happy with the upgrade feels alot more solid and like the grips on the front along with USBC charging and now having warranty again. (My Gen1 was bought day 1 and never had any issues)
Had mine for 3 years the grips are half hanging off but I guess I was one of the lucky ones as it took 2 years before they started to peel. I would wait a year and see how these hold up as my experience would make me think twice about buying another. Having said that there is no better controller on the market which sounds stupid to say but it’s true

38907657.jpg I pre-ordered with discounted vouchers from a previous HUKD thread so 80% face value essentially. Was planning on selling the white one but it's perfect condition and just out of warranty and I would pay £80 for that all day so just gonna keep it as a spare.

If I had been able to look at the new one prior to purchase I dont think I would have bothered. I like my removable and interchangeable batteries and the added profiles if you only use a single profile are a bit pointless - others may well see the benefit in it though.

The grips feel better welded but I actually prefer half grip and dont like the rubbery texture now covering the front of the controller.

The tightening of the joysticks only gives you a range between xbox 360 tension and one s - I haven't changed mine out of the box because they are perfect for me as standard.

An extra light hair trigger. It's nice but it isn't worth the extra unless you need a new one already.

Horses for courses but if your old one is perfect then I would see how long that lasted and see how much this RRP falls in the meantime. Argos always do a game and an elite controller most years for the price of a controller only or cheaper even!

That being said it is nice but so are all the other things this site draws me into

Edit - I added heat by the way OP. If I had a past it's best elite series one I would definitely be taking this deal...

Are fully working mk1 elite controllers not quite rare.....

Have had two - shoulder bumpers broke on both after (easy fix) and both developed really bad stick drift (can t be fixed)

Indeed they do & I've always looked after my stuff. At he end of the day it's only myself that will be replacing it.
Chances of finding a working Elite Series 1?

They are. I had to fix LB and the thumb sticks wear and the grips. I sold mine in worn state for £50
Do you need the outer box as i got mine through the console

It was the top left bumper on mine, it just clicked out of place and never wanted to return. I sent it off to Microsoft and had it repaired (or replaced, whichever they did). Works fine now, but doesn't get much use.
just contacted my local game stores both said.. it needs to be intact.. ie all sticks, paddles, case and most importantly the grips on the controller (which mine came off after about 3 months use) not sure if that helps anyone out

think u may get away with no box as long as all above are intact u should be fine.. but phone them first to ask at your store as they seem a bit arsey at best in my experience
Does anything think GAME would take a controller that has been repaired? I fixed the bumpers on mine a while back, not sure if they'd notice or even care if it has been disassembled.

As long as it works I think they will
Series 1 was a joke. I look after my stuff and had the grips fall off three times with it getting swapped out on warranty over and over. Apparently if you have warmer or sweaty hands the silicone just reacts and falls off.
I had my Series 2 delivered direct from MSOFT yesterday, paid about £142 using cd keys credit and gotta say it's worth every penny. Seriously thinking of using this deal and getting another by trading my White Series 1 pad.
