I can't make up my mind on if I should buy this or not!!! Ughhhh

Don't just rush in do your research on you tube,

I really like this guys videos, tells you what to look out for,

There are really good value dash cams out there but there are some terrible ones,

There are literally 1000's to choose from all slightly different,

After watching loads of reviews i found one called Viofo A119,

It is no longer produced but it has lasted at least 4 years of solid use, and still going strong, just have to check the lens is clean and hasn't moved,

Other than finding which setting worked best for me i haven't needed to go back into the settings since i bought it,

the information i found when watching the you tube review videos was,

A screen on the dash cam is easier to set the angle of the lens,

A wider angle is better but it will bend the image,

There are some that do front and back at the same time, or you will need 2 if you want to film front and rear,

Mine went up to 2k record quality,

The higher the resolution the more chance of reading a number plate clearly in the video, as well as being able to use high quality images as evidence of a accident and who was to blame,

You need a high end micro sd card to write at 1080P and above i used a transcend card,

You are supposed to over write the card every month or so but i just let it record to over write the card,

Dash cams are the worst for wearing out micro sd cards from always being written to,

Mine is capacitor powered so no issues with li ion batteries failing, but it stops recording when you turn off your ignition so it won't record someone reversing into your parked car and driving off, you would have to power mine with a power bank,

Mine is also tucked in at the top of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror,

I think this is good as you can become a target if the other party sees it or you tell them,

Lots of you tube videos of people saying your on camera and the other guy attacks the dash cam guy to get the evidence.

I ordered one. I like the fact that you can turn the camera 300 degrees, means that you film film inside the car and the surrounding when in parking mode. I will post below a YouTube video for more details

Thank you so much for the detailed response. It looks really good but I think I'll skip cause already spent too much money this month.
The Viofo is still produced just that it has evolved. There are several similar Viofo models at Amazon.
