Found 31st May 2012
A local deal rather than national.

I needed another 2 for 1 Drayton Manor Theme Park voucher so picked up a copy of I presume their local newspaper which advertised the voucher on the front page. Whilst browsing the newspaper came across an advert for Half Price Fuel (Petrol 70.8p Litre Diesel 75p Litre) on Jubilee Day at a local garage.

2002 pump prices to celebrate Queen's Diamond Jubilee Day.

Supplies limited to £20 per customer between 11am and 12 noon on Sunday, June 3, 2012.

Maybe of use to anyone visiting Drayton Manor Theme Park and will be in the area on that day (and at that time).

Also get you vehicle cleaned by bikini-clad beauties in their 'lovely jubblee' charity car wash (Minimum donation £2).

Garage address is Grendon Road Polesworth B78 1HA. 6 miles from Drayton Manor Park according to Google Maps.

I can see this getting hot! I might go there just for the car wash!

This will be a disaster so many people will turn up and get nothing.

from where I live it says 126 miles mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Aren't they gonna make a big loss?

Those girls are gonna be VERY busy on Jubilee day! X)

So the price doubled in 10 years! So did the GAS, electricity, food...

And people are celebrating!!!!

Bread and Circus anyone?

Seems like a good excuse for having the soft top washed while in my speedos with the top down!!!

I could really do with some 2 for 1 vouchers for Drayton Manor - which newspaper was it? Any other ideas where I could get them? Sorry to be cheeky lol

You can get them online 2 for 1 Offer but I needed one quickly and remembered that I had seen a message about them being in their local newspaper. I no longer have the paper but I think it was called the Herald.

Food etc isn't too bad considering £1 in 2000 is the equivalent of £1.50 (take a few pence) given inflation and what not.
It's fuel in general that's getting more expensive, not only due to the greed of the companies, but the taxation and decreasing supply
Good deal if you live near by though!!! Shame I live hundreds of miles from the place!.

Soapy t*ts

WOW

That is *some* offer! Voted hot, even though its too far from me to take advantage

This will make the news. 100 mile tailbacks to the garage and a riot when it runs out.

Brilliant! now i just need a car :s

Diesel's currently £1.36 so 1/2 price would be 68p!!

£20 max buy with a one hour time slot. Heat though just for the garage having the balls to offer up a deal like this. Will be mental busy there though i'd imagine.

Banned

The insanity this will cause

Hot

petrol 0.35p diesel 0.27p in egypt........... just thought i'd share that...

valid for one hour max fill up £20

It's on for 1hr and limited to £20, not worth the hassle and queuing if you ask me.

The car wash on the other hand, they shut one down around here that done the same, but permanently.

Never mind the Petrol/Diesel, The Car wash sounds fantastic. I'll set out now to make sure I get In the queue

Great price but asking for trouble I think. Even if all garages done this for Jubilee day, there would still be massive q's everywhere.

You missed out beer, at least in pubs. They think the reason people aren't going to the pubs anymore is because alcohol is cheaper in the shops. I'ts ALWAYS been cheaper in the shops. Reason people aren't going to the pub as much is because the price of a pint is extortionate now.

Anyone's pay doubled in the last 10 years. I'm earning about the same now as I did in 2002!

I'll give you heat if you post the picture full-size.

Glad I am not local.. This is going to be BEDLAM.. How many people are going to get served in 1 hour? What are people going to do to ensure they get there by 11? Queue? On the road? In the forecort? Are they going to fill up at 10:55 and then wait until 11?

This is a poorly executed promotion and I fear disaster.. I hope someone has a camera and sends photos of the 10,000 people who descend on the are to try and get their free £20 of fuel

Jon

Its going to be wet on Sunday, feel sorry for those bikini clad girls getting soaked thru!!

Depends where you live. Diesel is 159.9 here in the Hebrides.

Deal is hot for anyone who can get it.

It's a really nice idea but it's going to be absolute hell. And surely they're going to lose an absolute fortune?
