Average price is £16.66 so good saving . I am not lifting enough at the mo. to warrant extra protein but might still buy a couple. Thanks op
Bought two bags of the strawberry delight the other day. Not a bad tasting shake, but not the greatest. At the time the Belgian chocolate was not available, that would be my number one choice.

You didn't disappoint. You know what I have looked at those instagram bodies and wondered how they look so good. Normally they're fake nattys on gear flogging supplements to gullible people who readily 'put their hands in their pockets'.

Anyway feel free to offer up any actual evidence (that doesn't include instagram btw)

Well yes, I am laughing at you I guess.

Are you going to put up anything that backs your bro science aside from instagram and gullible 'more expensive stuff must be better' logic?

Labdoor make money from all the proteins via affiliate links, regardless of brand. The reason they can do this is because people trust them to test independently. From the site:

"Yes. Labdoor is an independent company funded by revenue generated through our website and by investments from a group of angel investors and venture capitalists, led by Rock Health, Mark Cuban, Y Combinator, and Floodgate. We do not accept contributions or donations of any kind from manufacturers to rank products on our site."

Of course you won't believe that given it wasn't posted on instagram. Regardless I'm not even saying myprotein is better than ON, but you claimed the opposite so again... please give us some evidence.
IMO gold standard is the best one.

Is this the same MyProtein that recalled several of it's products because of salmonella risks? And the same MyProtein that gets hammered for poor mixing and bad tasting products?

i use the myprotein isolate, impact whey and also the casein they all mix well
Surely the point of this site is to highlight genuine deals, not discuss which brand is better than the next. In regards to the various statements, it might be worth pointing out that the above mentioned brands all use the same base whey ingredient. It comes from a company called Volac so the Amino profile is the same across all the brands. I know this as have worked in the industry for 10 years, don’t be a sheep and choose one on your personal price and flavour preference. If you don’t like Diet whey, then don’t buy it.

Well cadbury (plus insert pretty much any major food company here) has had a salmonella recalls too. Not sure it's grounds to avoid something forever after.

Also read any protein reviews: EVERY powder gets hammered for poor mixing and poor taste because it's so subjecive. Some myprotein flavours are definitely the devils work, but their chocolate stacks up well against most others I've tried, including the ON I had from the deal on here.

I generally buy unflavoured anyway.

Yep! There the ones. Hey, a touch of salmonella and you won’t need any diet whey 🤣

This product is 68% protein, 11% carbs and 5.5% fat.
The first product I just looked at in the myprotein range is 90% protein.
That's a non-insignificant difference - especially if you are aiming for very low carbs,
I have got muscles and a low bodyfat percentage not because of the brand of protein I use, but because I work my a*** off in the gym. Saying that this is meant to be a diet protein but has as many calories as a standard whey. I use Myprotein because they are cheap and taste good to me
Edited by: "Smadmad" 19th Jan
Tried this in Strawberry and it actually tastes good. I'm sure it does most of what it mentions in the packaging too.
ON is owned by Glanbia plc so why would they use Volac products?

Labdoor’s testing is not infallible, a quick Google will show you many discussions where their methods are shown to be quite backwards based on how they rank things. I think Labdoor is a good idea but it’s not the definitive list some people seem to think it is.

Anyone really in the protein business many years will remember the agricultural grade whey Oliver at Myprotein used to shift back in the day (albeit after a quick blast in the industrial microwaves). It was all about profit back then and that was before they were bought out, so wonder what they’re like now.

If you choose to believe all protein is equal (and simply the sum of its amino acid profile) carry on buying the cheapest stuff, but any powder is probably costing at least £5/kg which is still a significant expense for a product - may as well get something half decent. Especially if you’re putting the effort in in the gym
Handbags as per usual on a protein deal. Let me help out some of you amateurs...

Protein is protein if we are talking macros, so what you see on the nutrition label on the back for protein, carb, fat values. Low protein high sugar high fat crap is not the same as an isolate that is almost pure protein. You know the difference between diet and regular Cola, full fat Greek yoghurt and light, so don't be a muppet and say it's all the same because it says protein on the front of the bag OK?

Money no object ON Gold Standard is probably the best out there. I don't have time to explain BCAAs and such as many of you are struggling with basics of macros, so it just is. Now if I had the money I would buy it but I don't recommend it because you can get good enough powder for half the price and you are not competing for My Olympia so you don't need the very best.

Legoman you post on every protein deal and you never learn anything. I remember you from the Mars protein deal which was jacked with sugar. Educate yourself, improve yourself. Don't be so stubborn man.
This is actually a pretty good deal for a known sports brand supplement. However I would never buy this at full price as there are too many alternatives.

Ive switched to vegan protein as I cant deal with the lactose intolerance issues I have. If I wasnt I would have tried this. My vegan protien is from GoNutrition because it looked like the best profile I could find and it was decent tasting price.

For those who are banging on about how this protein is better or that protein is better the truth is these are all supplements. Supplements are supposed to supplement your diet like a top up potentially. Get your training, diet and rest in check and you dont even need to buy this stuff. I currently have one serving of protein (15-20g) on non training days and 2 (30-40g) on training days so its not a lot but I consume most of what I need through food.

It reads very well as a great deal, but Amazon won’t let it go through.

You need to buy six items to go over the £50 threshold and you can only buy three of each item. Belgian Chocolate is in stock at £8.49 and Cherry Bakewell is delivered 1 - 3 weeks. All other flavours are twice this price.

With those six items in the basket I can’t seem to get the additional 25% off. Ideas?

Okay, took what you said and tried something else. Removed the “Prime” benefit of next day delivery and replace with free standard delivery on both items.

Now it does seem to work. I see less and less reason to have Prime anymore if this is the case.

Cheers for the help. Hopefully this experience should help others

Edit: Sorry, missed you actually said about changing the delivery

Glanbia use Volac whey as it’s regarded as the most consistent. My protein is s completely different animal under the Hut group. I don’t believe all protein is equal, I’m just stating that a lot of uk brands use the same base source. I can mention 4 of the leading UK brands that use Volac whey. Glanbia are a manufacturer for other brands also. They even make the snickers protein bar.
Thanks for posting OP!

ordered 6 and even got 3 Belgian chocolate flavour this time
First one I ever tried was the diet MyProtein stuff and it was like chugging sand. I’ve tried a different one of theirs since (non diet) which was a much better consistency.

Used Diet PHD as a post gym breakfast and it was OK (used to buy choc mint as it’s similar to Aero) but quite expensive. I’ve since changed to their Synergy ISO-7 which tends to be on offer/sale a bit more and isn’t quite as sweet or overwhelming as the Diet.

Good deal
