Cool, how much are they charging for them tho, because some shops in my experiance, over exagerate their rrp when they do half price or a bogof.

Is it Happy Quorn reared and treated properly, I would rather pay full price for Free Range Quorn ;-)

Radical thought this.... but maybe if you try both (or even look at the pretty pics on the box) you might just find out. I am a meat eater (of the omnivorous kind) by the way and still love Quorn stuff.

One tastes & is shaped like a banger & the other, wait for it.......... guess what? tastes & is shaped like a burger!

i'm not a veggie but I acctually prefer these to meat, I can't stand the biting into a sausage & always having lumps of grissle to take out of my mouth, this deal voted hot from me.

No it doesn't taste like a banger or a burger it tastes like, wait for it .........quorn what tastes like carp. If you bought some decent sausages not tesco value range you would find less gristle and more meat and taste. This stuff was invented to feed the poor yer the poor ****ers.

tastes like Carp? lllllooooooooooolllllllllll:-D:-D:-D:-D, something wrong with your taste buds!!!!:-D

There's some real angry people on this site,

its only a deal for a product that some people like and some don't.If you don't like it then the deal isn't for you, end of story.

I am sick and tired of all threads turning into opionated folk spouting off about why they don't like something when there comments having no bearing on whether it is a good deal or not!

FFS... ok, some of you don't like it. So what? Some of us do! If you don't think it's a good deal - another radical thought here - DON'T BUY IT! If I see a deal on something I don't like, I just don't even look at it, never mind post about the fact that I don't like it. Everyone's tastes are different, leave it!

better off cooking and eating the cardboard packaging they come in

Good deal
But if we are not supposed to eat animals,Why are they made from meat?

Buy any sausages you like, they'll still contain gristle. It'll just be disguised better in some brands than it is in others.

I don't rate quorn sausages/burgers because quorn is basically tasteless. But this is a good price.

yup, i like steak sausages from the butchers.....but cookin them in a foremans grill and seeing all the fat pour out is rather vile

Wouldn't eat these quorn sausages, but i do love quorn, especially the escalope varietys

I never understand why people come on with lies about Quorn. It has nothing to do with the post at all, yet time after time the Mods do nothing about it. I've had people from all over the world eat Quorn at our house & never has anyone thought it was not meat. Thanks to the OP.

I have to disagree. Everyone I've ever given quorn too has noticed it wasn't meat. Quorn doesn't taste anything like meat, nor does it have the same consistency as meat. Something I'm grateful for, since I don't like meat.

Sorry but I very much doubt that. I don't have any problem with Quorn, but it is nothing like meat. the texture is totally different, so is the taste. My guess is your guests enjoyed their meals with you and felt no need to ask, but they would have definitely known the difference if they were meat eaters.

If you cook it & it doesn't taste like meat, then you need to learn to cook. I've had hundreds of people from around the world eat it & never once has anyone noticed, believe you me if they did I would not hesitate to say so.

This week we cooked 3 meat meals & Two Quorn meals. Today we were talking in general & the subject came onto the meals & a Tawaiin lady was surprised that she had not realised that Two of the meals were not meat, she had no idea which of the meals were the real meat. Can't say more than that, & that is quite typical.

Surely buying a product modeled on either the taste or form of meat is reinforcing an ideology of meatofascism. Isn't this just simulated meat murder?

I can cook just fine thanks. Fact is quorn doesn't taste like meat, nor does it have the same consistency or texture as meat. The quorn mince or chicken could pass as meat to some people, but that's about it.

And would that then not work the other way, meat could easily pass as quorn? Because I guarantee if someone gave me meat and said it was quorn I'd know the difference instantly.

Quorn is not modelled on the form of meat, this is asked in every veggie thread. How many cows do you see shaped like burgers? Or pigs shaped like sausages? You don't, why? Because they're generic shapes used in the food industry for food presentation.

Having been to many countries around the world, I've never seen sausages in that many of them - so no wonder they didn't realise! I couldn't be tricked by a sausage that didn't have meat in it, Quorn ones taste extremely different and have different textures and consistencies in comparison - no one I've fed has known if it was meat or not but knew there was something 'wrong' with it.

Right, that makes sense I suppose. So long as you believe that the quarter pound is an arbitrary weight not derivative of the weight (and shape and proportions) of the well known food product, the Beef Burger.

And bangers are just coincidentally the same shape and size as meat sausages (or bangers) because it's a convenient way to package quorn.

So every burger you've ever seen has been a quarter pound in weight and advertised as such? Or are all burgers, regardless of weight and the animal they're made off given the same shape? Lamb burgers are the same shape as beef, which are the same shape as turkey and such, they also happen to be the same shape as quorn burgers.

How rude of them all to try and mimic a beef burger, when you buy lamb burgers are you buying into simulated cow murder? Or could it possibly be a generic shape....

Here's a little factoid for the non-veges slating the product:

Cancer patients are not allowed to eat meat due to certain enzymes that are normally used to kill cancer cells being reallocated to digesting meat. I think that really speaks volumes about turning vege or having meat substitutes.

It doesn't speak volumes about anything. There is the point that one can tip-toe through life avoiding things that MAY have a negative effect on their life, but who knows when the proverbial bus will run you over?

There is also the rather tasteless point (ironically on a quorn thread) that eating Linda McCartney meals every day isn't necessarily a guard against ill. A balanced diet generally is, meat included.

If Quorn is supposed to be so good for you, why do the manufacturers insist on making it look like junk food?

Is that a factoid, or a rumouroid?

According to David Icke, cancer can be cured with baking soda.
