Half-Price RAC Breakdown Cover from £29.50 per year (plus cashback with TopCashback)

RAC are running a half-price deal on their current cover. You can also get cashback via TopCashback but remember to go to the page mentioned in this deal as the link from TopCashback lands you on a page that does not have the deal. If you go back to the deal page, you will get the deal and the cashback.

Don't forget to ring and cancel after a year, or they will send a renewal email which you can easily miss and they won't refund.

Seems like a very good prince for the top offer of 67-30 cashback =37
Nearly as good as 2 years ago for myself. This was same offer but got £140 cashback so made £80 just about for taking breakdown cover.
I can't see the TCB tracking if you don't proceed directly via their link.
34497173-qHnjL.jpgtintowelfan, I got the deal mentioned by Cuddl3s which is why I posted.

Obviously need to go to topcashback and click their link from there, if you want the cashback

PS: Anyone know the car age limit, i can seem to find it on their website?

there is no car age limit the only requirements are that your vehicle should be serviced regularly and kept in a road worthy condition i.e. it has a valid MOT which is why some car insurance companies give you a slight reduction in premium as those motorists with breakdown cover are considered to look after their vehicles, rather than Dodgy Dave and his unloved banger...
“ Your eligible vehicle must be roadworthy
and in good mechanical condition at least 7
days before any booked journey within your
period of cover. You must also make sure it
is serviced as the manufacturer
recommends"

Not as simple as that in this situation, hence my question to mgmazz01. If you care to read the complete OP you will see you cannot get this deal direct via TCB feed page.

I just did this and it tracked. Click through via top cashback, then once the RAC web page loads type/paste this into the address bar rac.co.uk/bre…n-3
and then proceed as normal.

sorry it added the affiliate link back in, but essential you need to remove everything after \uk-breakdown-3 before loading the link

your right, my guess is once you go through top cash back just use the search function and find HALF PRICE SALE, then click on the second article, then proceed as normal, cashback should now track.

If you just copy paste this link over the top of the topashback one i`m 90% sure cask back wont track as i would expect the link created by top cash back has a unique identifier or some sorts.

tracked for me when I pasted it over the top, but the search might be preferable.
So if you were to breakdown does this interfere with your no claim bonus with your insurance company. I have no idea how these things work
Cheers OP. Just recently cancelled an auto renewal for 2 drivers at £185!!! Every year it goes up, I ring to cancel and then they drop the price. This year I cancelled completely. Glad I did! 😜 Got annual cover for 2 drivers for £97, same level of cover

Nope car insurance and breakdown cover are separate the only difference now is that most breakdown companies stipulate how many call-outs per year which may lead to them increasing your breakdown cover premium should you go over a certain amount and advising you to look at changing your vehicle for a more reliable one which could be down to regular servicing & having a road worthy vehicle....
I'm going to buy up, hadn't got around to sorting out breakdown cover for my "new" car ,hoping TCB tracks.

Surely this deal deserves more heat? A lot cheaper than their usual prices esp for new customers.
It's still not as good as AutoAid as far as I can tell (who cover both my wife and I, in any car we drive, even towing the caravan, for about £45).

The historic downside of Autoaid (which was that you had to pay up front then claim back) has now been removed so it works the same as everyone else.

Service is fine too (as I discovered on Tuesday when we broke down with the carvan and got both recovered home no problem).

No heat from me- half price is still too much for me, even with £30 cashback, when you have to pay extra for extra vehicles (especially relevant if you are a two car household).

thank you very much just cutted down my renewal cost which i have already bought down half niw thats another half so only paying a quarter
Voted hot, this is okay but the autoaid cover is essentially RAC full-package and is a much better comprehensive deal.

If you just want roadside cover for one person/car and no extras like recovery/homestart, then this is a competitive offer
Be careful Make sure you have screenshots of everything as I did not get my casback from TopCashback they said they can find a record of it.
Even though I had a screenshot of everything.
lost out on £60
How does cashback work?
Interesting
Have to agree. I was toying with the idea of going back to RAC, but the AutoAid deal is so much more competitive. Go through Groupon as new customer and get it for £33.15 and 12% cashback, so about 30 quid if it tracks, which it did not last year. But no big deal as still very cheap at 33 quid. Gets better reviews than both RAC and AA.

My daughter is with Start Rescue, they responded in less than 30 minutes and got her to local garage where repair was carried out under manufacturer warranty. Long story about this, and the repair guy was miserable, but the end result was good.

That last sentence sounds quite concerning - surely many manufacturers recommend an annual service at one of their rip-off dealerships? I haven't seen that last sentence on other breakdown cover around this price (e.g. AutoAid).

No they are seperate policies, but to be honest the breakdown cover from your insurer is usually a rip-off anyway so far better.

Get a standalone policy instead.

That is precisely what it means thereby ruling out DIY jobs....

Thank you very much for posting this mgmazz01. I have been looking for breakdown cover and this ticks all the right boxes. Have some heat

The TCB t&cs do state it can’t be used with any other offer, but presumably that wording was there with OP posted this? Not sure why it’s suddenly been expired.

Yes looks like you are right, cashback will probably be denied.
