Not everyone's cup of tea I know....but I used to like them back in the day and there must be some others out there who would like to hear them play some of their old hits.

£25 for a gig, food and drinks seems like a pretty good deal to me....shame I don't live closer :-(

Tickets go on sale 4/8/14.

For anyone not wanting to miss out on tickets, or not wanting the full package(and not bothered by the early entry/VIP Seating)- tickets are on sale NOW at the ridiculously cheap price of £12.50 from Lusty Cove directly or for £13.75 from this site seetickets.com/Eve…533

PLEASE NOTE... After contacting Lusty Glaze, I can now confirm that Pirate FM has indeed made a mistake on their website and that the gig will in fact be on Sunday 17th August NOT Monday 18th August. They were contacting Pirate FM as they Emailed, to make sure the mistake is rectified so I am sure the info will be correct by the time the tickets go live
Been fixed already....that's my good deed for the day done

Tickets also available for other gigs- The Feeling, Bellowhead and Fisherman's Friend on different dates and prices....but still half price.

More info...

Having sold millions of records and headlined stadiums around the world, Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene have decided it’s time to take things back to basics. The singer and the drummer from the iconic Britpop band will be revisiting their enviable back catalogue in acoustic form. These intimate shows, which will be travelling the UK and the summer festivals, will see the old anthems – The Riverboat Song, Hundred Mile High City, The Day We Caught The Train – performed the way that Simon originally conceived them: on acoustic guitar.

These shows are the latest chapter in a remarkable career that’s seen OCS rise from Breton shirt-wearing Stone Roses disciples to one of Britpop’s biggest bands (their 1998 arena tour was the biggest by any UK group that year). In their 25 years together, they’ve enjoyed five Top 10 albums, six Top 10 singles and a mantelpiece full of awards.

But behind all the swagger and the style were great songs, with words and melodies that found their way into your head and heart. It’s time to hear these songs again, stripped back but every bit as brilliant.

Lol (_;)

Fantastic live! One of my fave gigs ever absolute bargain!!

Best live band I've ever had the privilege to see.

Strange, some websites say this gig is on the sunday, some say on the Monday. Even the Lusty Glaze site have someone else playing on the Monday with no mention of OCS playing at all.

Way too far for me... but Heat added for a great band saw them at the Legendary Oasis Knebworth gigs!

The Riverboat Song.....what an epic Tune!

Oh yes, I see what you mean....
It seems that they are playing, but it is looking like it's on the 17th August (Sun) lustyglaze.co.uk/oce…st/
Seems as though Pirate FM may have it wrong! Anyway, thank you mrfishey for pointing this out as on investigating I found out that the venue are selling tickets for £12.50....which once you add the price of 2 drinks and a burger on, probably works out about the same but you might not want all that.
Also noticed that Newton Faulkner and Morcheeba are due to be doing gigs there too...so this may be of interest.

Great band, saw them at the Moseley festival last year (a bit of a homecoming gig) and enjoyed it.

I wish I could say the same. Saw them a couple of years ago in Stirling for the first time. They more or less admitted that some of the band including the lead was still drunk from the previous night. You could tell they were really struggling, words being missed etc. They cut the set short, glad I didn't pay much for the ticket.

Everybody's second favourite 90s band

Would have loved to gone to this, but can't arghhh .....
Top band and great live ...watched them at aston villa ,with paul weller backing them up and then joining them later on stage for a few songs .....I'm still stuck in that era for music ....maybe a way of re living my youth lol.

You saw them with the Modfather?! Sounds like one awesome gig!!
I know what you mean about re living your youth, I'm only in my 30's but often think to myself 'what happened to all the good bands bleugh'.... oO lol

Hahaha....I know what you mean!! I have a 10 Year old and my ears have suffered so much drivel!! Tried to educate her, but she's having none of it!! Fared slightly better with my 16 Year old boy
I give up on her though, I'm afraid! The worst of it is that this guff they seem to like is actually quite catchy(definitely said catchy, not good) and you'll be doing some menial task and find yourself humming it to yourself argh!! oO

Yeah exactly.....who wouldn't want to be on a gorgeous beach, drinking beer and filling their faces with BBQ whilst watching one of the best bands of the 90's eh?!! The steps do sound a bit of a challenge....133 to be precise. Could take some time to get home....2 steps forward...3 steps back lol!!:D

Still a steal at £25 to hear one of the best bands of their time, sing songs that'll be talked about 50yrs from now. There was only 3 bands worth listen to back in the late 90's, oasis, the verve and ocean colour scene. Noel G called them 2nd best band after oasis of course. The circle, get blown away, better day and it's my shadow are more like poetry that songs.

here's a taster for those going and just for a listen for those in the know and those still to discover ocs

6.This voucher is valid for Simon and Oscar from Ocean Color Scene at Lusty Glaze Beach on 18th August 2014 only.

But this is very misleading because it isn't actually OCS, it is Simon Fowler & Oscar Harrison (from OCS). It is no way OCS without the mighty Steve Craddock on lead guitar! This is a typical feck up by Pirate FM, they couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery.

BTW I have seen OCS several times and they are a great group live. I am sure Simon & Oscar doing an acoustic set will be really good but won't top OCS doing a full band set.

Good to see those geniuses at Pirate managed to spell "colour" wrong on 5 out of 6 occasions in their ad. Once again Pirate FM makes you think of a brewery and organising a ..........

Sorry even at £25 it is still way to much! Who would pay £50 crazy price!

Surely it makes it even more of a deal, then? Don't forget it includes 2 Alcoholic Drink Tokens, BBQ, Early Entry and VIP Seating, which may not be a big deal to you, but for others it may be.

Yes for some chaps it may be worth it... But the point is it is not the full band, that was my point.... So the price is high!

I saw them play at this free gig: songkick.com/con…ton

Quite some time ago. It was a free event for which I was lucky enough to be given 2 tickets in advance. Offered the spare ticket to someone I knew and he failed to turn up to go. Made me late too, waiting for him. Couldn't get hold of him to find out what was going on. So ended up going on my own and still had a good night. OCS, Paul Weller and Faithless were great. Never got an explanation or apology from him.

One of the best voices of the 90's. He and Chris Helme out of the Seahorses!

Sooooo much better than Oasis! Proper heart felt tunes/lyrics!

MS is an absolute stonker of an album!

Oasis - most over rated.
OCS - most under!
