Glad to see the Halfords tools are on offer, I was worried it would never be on again. Better check if DFS and Euro carparts have a sale on too

Such a shame some people think this website is just for them and that … Such a shame some people think this website is just for them and that because they know about offers, naturally everyone else will. If you don't think this is a good deal then fine and vote accordingly but there's just no need for the sarcastic comments when this is a valid offer some people will benefit from being highlighted.

No, the only people that benefit from this is Halfords as they have the same sale on every other week! This is really all this tool set is worth. They are not anywhere near the same quality as the old stuff. As for "knowing about deals" I'll impart the secret of this, it's called the search bar, it's at the top on the right. No need to thank me.

Dont remember it ever being full price. I have an older version of this set that ive had for about 15 years. A good set of tools and only broke one tool but never used the guarantee to replace it.

Just a shame you couldn't use your wisdom and site knowledge to vote on this post rather than needlessly comment. As for using the search bar, one of the best things (read: dangerous things) about this site is having something highlighted as an offer you didn't know about. If you came on here looking for an offer on a Halfords tool set, likelihood is you'll have been to their site already and found this yourself.

I did vote.. voted cold. Maybe They should scrap the comments section so they can make sure no one gets so outrageously and needlessly offended. There is a cure for this though, it's called 'Man up!' comes in a variety of formats and makes all these comments seem much less significant.

What a load of ****.

There's this thing called "Browsing" yeah, What it means is you look at stuff, or "browse", until you see something you like.

You may not have known or searched for the item of interest when you started browsing.

great tools, heat added
Got this set and its great. Super quality tools with a lifetime warranty, a really good deal at £150.
Cold, due to previous comments I'm not going to be sarcastic and just put a sensible reason for my cold vote, and that's because £150 is the regular price. If you're not in a hurry to buy this set, you can every now and then get it for less than £130. Personally I'm hoping for a good deal at Black Friday like last year and pick a set up then. I'm not in a rush so no need to pay the regular price.

If this was ReasonableUKPrices, I'd vote Reasonable, quality is (supposedly) reasonable but their guarantee is supposed to be great. Have read a few people on here saying they got parts and even entire sets swapped with no receipts.

Working on this assumption, you only ever "browse"... don't read any of the comments and purchase on the fact that it's on the first page of new deals on HUKD under the premise that because someone has posted it, it must be a great deal and refuse to use the search bar to see if it's a repost ,see if it's been cheaper before or there's a voucher code.

You Sir have either missed the point completely or are talking what is commonly known as cobblers.

But it's not a "valid offer". It's the normal price for this set. Or at least the price at which 99% of these sets will be sold. Just because Halfords occasionally hike the price up to £350 (and I pity anyone who actually pays that without realising) doesn't really make this a deal.

Having said that, it's a great set for the money. Yes, Halfords Pro stuff isn't as good as it used to be, but it's still decent quality with a lifetime guarantee. I have an older set and it's my go-to set for most jobs. I have various Snap-on sockets and ratchets, but the convenience of the Halfords set - always open on my tool cabinet, and dead easy to see where everything is (or isn't!) beats rooting around for loose Snap-on stuff anyday.

Balls to that then - definitely not interested if I'm losing 6 sides on each of my sockets.

Agree with the above, this is the limit of what this set is worth. My Bahco set cost less and is superior.

The guarantee is what makes this offer.
Bought this set approximately 6 years ago for £100. Wish I knew I had to keep the receipt as most of the Torx bits and two of the screwdriver bits broke. "No replacement eithout receipt" said Halfords typically useless customer service.
Wish their tools were up to the job, don't know why they would put screwdriver bits on a 3/8 socket if they can't take the torque. Also note that they only do upto the 170 piece toolbox tray which leaves out necessary sizes such as 11mm spanners. Other Halfords stupidity is that this set doesn't include a breaker bar so you'll have fun arguing you didn't abuse the ratchets when the mechanism breaks.
I purchased this a while back, was £140 and used a friends Halfords trade card and it knocked a bit more off.
I've only realised this week that the screwdriver attachment isn't magnetic as the bits keep falling out, so I'm going to take that part back and see if I can get a replacement as I'm sure it must be magnetic yes ?

You can usually get bits replaced without the receipt, seems to depend on how officious the person you speak to in the store is. I've even had the case replaced for my 10 year+ old set without the receipt, they couldn't even give me a replacement that was the same as they don't make it any more (old type with the flex hinges)

That said, moving parts (ratchet mechanisms) have always been explicitly not covered by the warranty, abused or not. Rebuild kits are a couple of quid.

I also got this kit about 10 years ago for £99. I have had 3 or 4 boys replaced on separate occasions without a receipt. I do think it depends on the branch or person though in terms of not having a receipt.

45 of the sockets in this set are 6 sided.the rest are 12.
It does come with a 7" breaker bar too :p.
The ratchet spanners are really nice quality, and the sockets themselves are quite good too,be nicer if they had a satin finish like the Bahco ones though.
The ratchets are very good, slightly better than Clarke Pro,but not as nice as my Bahco's.
The universal joints are very good quality too,not to keen on the extension bars mind.
The set is next to me now, arrived a few days ago,all in all very pleased for £150.I will probably keep using my Clarke Pro 1/2 inch stuff (all 6 sided) for the majority of jobs,(I have a 3ft Clarke Pro breaker bar if needed (_;)),the Bahco's for smaller, and the Halfords for the rest.
All in all a good buy for £150,but if it was much more than that,I'm not so sure.
I also should add,the returns policy depends on who serves you!,some want the receipt, some don't!.Ill just keep the shipping form in a resealable plastic bag in the kit,and all emails from Halfords just in case!,

I haven't compared precisely but if you're not bothered about having it all in one set (or want to put it in a chest/rollcab), you could make up something similar by buying the 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch Halfords Advanced modular sets at £25 each, and a set of their ratchet spanners for £40, so you'd end up with more 6 point sockets in the set, but no sae sockets and less screwdriver/hex bits (I think totalling about 150 pieces but saving £25/35 compared to this set). Not knocking this deal, just pointing out an alternative (from items already posted), it's a shame they don't seem to do the range of ratchet spanners they used to - I have a set with (I think) 13 sizes of spanner plus 30+ screwdriver/hex bits and it's incredibly useful (and hard-wearing), but I can't see it on their site anymore.

Voted hot just because its offer and there is no cheaper option. But must say I would not pay more than £120. Quality is not the best, box falls apart too after frequent use. Also halfords removed lifetime warranty on ratchets... Bits are soft and shear off too quick I guess they changed manufacturer or specs of alloy used to drop price... Really the only reason you buy it is because you can return it locally and get replacement outright in the shop. Otherwise I would be after some premium brands like Facom, Wera, etc...

Lifetime warranty still applies on ratchets if they break. What is not covered is the mechanism - ie. The free play between clicks. I ripped the head off of my quarter inch ratchet recently and it was replaced without issue, or a receipt. Great tools, mine have been used every weekend for years and I've only needed the warranty once.
Great tools, have seen the very occasionally for the full price in store. Feel sorry for anyone who pays the full whack for them as they are £150 majority of the time !!
Surprised the heat hasn't been cranked up on this deal

I bought this set last time it was on offer, so glad I did, it's already come in very handy..you know those jobs where your halfway through and you come across the one nut you don't have a socket or spanner for..

That never happens to me thanks to this site! I've got every kind of socket or spanner for every kind of fixing, but no money in the bank.....cheers HUKD!
Any recommendations for other socket sets?
