Off to get 12L.
Hope my trade card work with this offer.

carparts4less have all of these grade oils at under £13 for 5 litres. QX oil

Newer Vauxhalls require Dexos2 spec oil (2010 onwards i beleive), the oil halfords sell isn't Dexos2 spec so they are being a bit naughty

Would get a better make than halfords- you would only need this much if you were doing a full oil drain.

I would rather put vegetable oil in my car than this

Yup, with 10% TCB and free delivery too. There's also a 7.5% off voucher although this might not be eligible for TCB.

I guess this deal is useful if you need to collect locally for whatever reason.

Car enthusiasts likely know what they want and won't put this in their remapped Evo. And for wife's 1.2l Kia shopping trolley it's just as good as Silkolene or Millers costing three times more.

Trade card gives £1.00 discount per 4L of oil.

They canceled mine but offered me 5 litres of another brand 5w30 for £9 also, and never took my first paypal payment

5W30 for Fords ... why Fords? Surely its generic and will work in any engine that needs 5W30?!

Not strictly true the Ford 5W/30 is £19.14 for 5 litres at Car Parts4Less, and this is the correct grade for my 2012 Ford Focus, so a better deal at Halfords for this oil.
I'd probably prefer the Halfords anyway over the Europarts Triple QX own make.

The Ford oil is more expensive and so is the Vauxhall 5w/30 oil at Carparts4less, just checked a 2013 Vauxhall Insignia and the Triple QX price is £17.94.

just remember diesels with dpfs need a c2 oil. just to confuse matters

thanks , good timing , just used the last of the oil from the previous 1/2 price offer.

where do you put this oil?

4.5 to 5 litres of oil required for insignia so you have to buy an extra litre from halfords and the oil is not dexos2 so not really the quality or the quantity you want for that car, halfords is ok if your car requires 4 litres or less otherwise cp4l is better value

vickyboy123

Straight into the fuel tank of course ...

Not a bad deal

Triple QX is a cheap oil made by unknown company. Halfords is made by comma, part of the same group that make Mobil oil.
My point was thou that Carparts4less are not selling at the price you originally claimed i.e. All grades posted for under £13 for 5 litres

it will work in other stuff that needs basic 5w30 but the ford stuff has to meet specific specs which this stuff does, so that's how they market it. It's the same with vw spec oils and BMW etc.
You can get oils with a broader range that meet multiple specs.

I got 4 bottles of 5w/30 a couple of years ago for £10 each. Been using it on the company car audi A3, it has been been fine. Might get a couple of bottles of this.

You must own a Ford then.

Cheers just picked a couple up for £11 each with trade card.

Halfords seem to be restricting the amount available on sale. Got there at 9am and there were only 2 bottles of each on display.

picked up 2 bottles this afternoon for £11 each with trade card, there were many bottles at the london old kent old branch.

I don't think they're being naughty, if you put your reg number in it will tell you what's suitable or not. Still got some left from when it was a tenner. Both cars have ran well on it. It matches the Vauxhall spec so no worries.
