Same happened to me - took the single screwdriver back into the shop, they reached below the counter and pulled out a new one of the same size and handed it to me. No questions asked. Very pleasently surprised.

Heat added thanks for posting op
Fantastic screwdrivers. I bought 4 sets of them a few years ago when they were £4.50 iirc, and they are brilliant.
great price - thanks OP would not have seen this otherwise
Not bad screwdrivers (great for the price) but note that the cross-heads are Pozidriv and not Phillips. That makes them good for woodworking, but not for engineering or vehicles.
These are great quality screwdrivers. I use them every week at work.
Awesome set of drivers!

Heat OP.

Oh, blast. So I assume the one you also need for that is the set that says it has "cross heads". Which also duplicates the slot heads from the other set.

halfords.com/wor…set

But it has no stubby versions you want the stubby Philips heads you have to buy the set that's only stubby screwdrivers and duplicate both the slot *and* PZ stubby screwdrivers.

halfords.com/wor…set

Am I missing something, is it not possible to just buy a set of all 3 types of screwdriver without buying 3 different sets and duplicating everything?

Seems that way. Buy the missing Phillips ones from Wera instead, and they'll outlast any other tools in your toolbox.

Makes far more sense than giving out a whole new pack I guess.
Decent screwdrivers for the this price.

Oofs. Looks like I could have a complete set of Halford duplicates, and then duplicate all *those*, with a lifetime warranty for the whole lot, for the price of a Wera set. Seems overkill unless you're a pro.

If you have AA membership download the app and you will and select 'benefits' icon where amongst many decent offers / discounts you will see Halfords - simply show the discount coupon in store on the app and you will get an additional 10% off - works on ALL purchases including discount / sale / clearance items
Great set, just wish mine had a proper carrying case! Heat!

No I'm a bit ham fisted and partial to rounding off bolts and snapping screwdrivers so I've learnt to be prepared
Had this set for 7 years now and its brilliant. Heat!
I've got these, they have magnetic tips which was a bonus for me, had mine 3 years so well worth it
I'm just curios, is this better than using the power tool screwdriver ?
