These drop from time to time and are currently in the 15% off offer. Good reviews as well, should be really good for tight spots. I normally damage a knuckle with standard ones, then rage quit for 10 mins Haha.

Ratchets should not be used to fully tighten or initially loosen. They should be used for the boring winding part of the process and a spanner or socket and breaker bar used to apply large amounts of torque.

It may be that they refused to replace as they felt you had misused the tool.

His missus told him exactly the same thing....

Bahco.

Wahco Bahco., over and out.

Indeed makes me shudder watching them smashing wheel bolts up with them, got my own calibrated torque wrench in the boot.

thanks!!!

These are really good for the money, I got my set nearly 10 years ago when I was in the trade. I went into work after paying about £45 for my set from Halfords on the weekend using a trade card to find my boss had bought exactly the same set but branded as Signet off the tool van, however he had 2 fewer spanners and was missing both of the ratchet adaptors and had spent £130 on them. Not sure if you still get the ratchet adaptors from Halford but even so they were a bargain at £45 so for £34 now these are really worth it.

It's only fair wear and tear or misuse that's not covered. If the item breaks while in proper use - as in is faulty - they'll exchange it.

The mechanisms in these spanners are tiny and will not accept large amounts of torque being applied.

I understand how to use the products correctly and not misuse them after being a technician for over 25 years.

So normal usage has no lifetime warranty ? what is covered then for the lifetime ? just the open spanner end ?

MRGRINGO16 h, 40 m ago

Bahco.

My Bahco s4rm ratchet spanners didn't last as long as my halfords ones before they stopped working properly. Big fan of Bahco socket sets though.

Expecting fair wear and tear to be covered is like expecting the soles of your shoes to never wear out. And, yes, effectively the spanner is guaranteed against faults in manufacture that cause it to break during normal use.

Not sure what the shoes has to do with it,but as I used the item for a short time as designed it should have been covered by the Lifetime Guarantee, but unfortunately the guy on the till was not interested.

They need to look into the so called Lifetime guarantee as its not being implemented.

Anyway will leave it there,no point in going round in circles like the ratchet and slipping to oblivion

Mines even better, went in with a normal length 3/8" ratchet (came in one of the sets when they was £10 something) because the quick release wasn't working so it wouldn't hold a socket. He tried to give me a 1/2" ratchet at first and i said its 3/8" which he said thats just the handle size thats 1/2"..... Anyway he picked up a 3/8 swivel head ratchet which was £24.99 and gave us that.

Win win as i was looking at buying one anyway, didn't ask for a receipt or anything just gave us it and off we went.

It's a pity these don't come with a case to store them in so I've just bought the following canvas pouch from Ebay for £2.20. It should do the job.
