They will be 7mm wider. Is there 3.5mm extra gap each side compared to your current tyres?

thanks for your reply but do you mean between wheel rims? I can't understand. With ordinary mountain bike tyres you can fit very wide tyres, the rim size doesn't matter much. Don't quite see what you mean, is it a joke? Oh do you mean between the forks?

Being serious! 28c means 28mm wide. 35c is 35mm wide. If your current tyres are close to the forks/frame or mudguards then you'll have to stick with 28. If there is a big gap you can try the 35. Bear in mind they'll also be a bit taller too so can rub on the brakes if things are tight.

Thanks, well I've ordered four by click and collect, I'll take the bike and see, it's disk brakes anyway
Why are my tires 700x32

Why are my tires 700x32

It's the rims that matter. 700 x 28 or 700 x 35 might fit depending on rims.
Would any of these these work on 27.5 x 1.95 tyres?

Bought a carrera axle in Jan but not a fan of its chunky MTB style tyres (on a supposed hybrid bike), was hoping to replace them but can't work out if any of these would fit..

Any advice much appreciated on whether any of these would fit!

Don’t know where you are getting the c from? The c usually is part of the wheel size i.e. 700c or 650b?

Nope.

guides.wiggle.co.uk/roa…ide

Road bicycle tyres generally come in three widths: 23c, 25c and 28c - this number refers to the width of the tyre at their widest point, in millimetres i.e. 23mm, 25mm and 28mm.

cyclinguk.org/cyc…zes

That lists a whole host of sizes.

To fit your bike you'd need tyres marked as 27.5 or 650b. 650b is the proper name for that wheel size as it originated on road bikes. The 27.5 was adopted as mountain bikes were commonly 26" or 29" and this size slotted in the middle.

Ahh I see.. thanks.

Was wondering whether could get away with the 27 x 1 1/4 tyres but guessing wouldn't quite fit?

Have a look at the Cycling UK link....tyre sizes are very silly.

27 x 1 1/4 are an old Brit size. Your 27.5 means 27" diameter including the tyre not 27" for the wheel rim diameter.

In fairness cheap tyres are pretty awful, you might be quicker on good mtb tyres than cheap slicks! Good 27.5 slicks include Schwalbe G Ones and Panaracer Gravel Kings.

Oh right so the 27 tyres may potentially fit my bike rims after all.

I just wanted a couple of slicks for light road cycling in the summer, nothing serious, so these should be OK for that I think.

Many thanks.

Nope, they won't fit. 27.5 means 27" diameter including the tyre. NOT the diameter of the wheel rim you fit the tyre to. No chance of fitting.....

Well I bought four there is about 50mm clearance between the forks and the frame so I guess I'll be ok. They do seem to be taller but there is enough clearance. I bought two new inner tubes they said the 28mm one wouldn't be big enough. I think they should give me a softer ride?
Thanks OP. Great find.
Cheers OP got pair of 26 x 2.3 stiffer in the side walls than my continental mountain kings I use & feel bit heaver due to their thickness but I certainly won't grumble defo very good deal still using my conti's with £1 inner tube with slime in will do similar to these when my conti's run out

Ahh I see, my mistake. Thanks for clarifying
Thanks callumm133. got a 26x2.3 for myself which was marked up at £12 but was £3 when I got them to check the price and a pair of 26x1.5 for my mate. Tyres look ok but seem quite thick and heavy proibably due to the "puncture proof" constuction but will be fine for what is needed
Came on to post this deal. Still some stock about the place and the click and collect you can pick up within the hour.
