Halfords Industrial Tool Chest - Bundle Deal - Save £459.99 now £349.99

First of all, please go easy on me... this is my first post. I did take a look to see if anyone else has posted the same deal, but I couldn't see it anywhere.

I've been keeping my eye out for this offer which seems to be repeated periodically. Halfords are currently offering a bundle deal on their 'industrial' range of tool chests.

This includes:-

Bottom chest on castors with 6 drawers
Middle chest with 3 drawers
Top chest with handles and 6 drawers

To buy all three chests separately would normally cost £809.98, however these are on offer at a total of £349.99 saving a whopping £459.99 on the normal selling price!

I will be honest, I was a bit dubious about the quality of these, but on checking them in-store (and reading far too many reviews) I'm happy that it is good kit for the money and compares well to other brands.

The deal is available for collection in-store or home delivery. Just add all three items to the basket and the price will be re-calculated automatically.

The Halfords Industrial range is the top of their own label range (which in order of price/quality is 'standard', 'professional', 'industrial'). See the video for a quick review.

Is it cheap for a tool chest? No, definitely not... but then if you're already in the market for a decent quality one (with drawers on bearings) it could save you a lot of cash.

Is it it a hot deal? Well I think so... but no doubt the haters will let me know otherwise!

Haven't voted either way - but to be clear, this is for the base one with wheels, middle and top ones which sit on top of it.
Rather than 3 of the same type

these 3

Have no idea why this is being voted cold, it's a steal at this price considering your getting all 3 section for the price of the base unit alone oO? The quality is top notch for the price.

It's a good deal. Thanks for posting

Thanks for the feedback guys... I have updated the post to make it clearer. I've also changed the category to 'home' from 'other' thinking it might get a few more views that way.

They are having a flash sale today

Was going to order this for my husband as he likes this kind of stuff, until I found out they are just EMPTY BOXES. such a con

Depends on your definition of 'better deal'. The SGS chest is certainly a lot cheaper and it may be fine for many people's needs.

I wouldn't knock the SGS gear (I have some of their stuff also and it's served me well)... but I think it's important to see what's best for you spec wise, and then 'compare apples with apples'.

The Halfords chests I have listed are far more heavy duty and are ideal for everyday rather than occasional use. I won't list the full spec here, but as a comparison, the SGS drawers will only hold 8kg each, whereas these will take 40kg each.

As for the 'empty boxes' comment... well, I am more than happy to have been conned at this price, especially with the extra 10% off! (thanks for that gari189!).

bought mine with the extra 10% discount then got a friend to use his staff discount and got all 3 for £236.23! ! bargain and good quality

What sort of size are they when packaged, will I be able to collect in an average size hatch back?

The dimensions are as advertised. They come more or less fully assembled (so add a few cm to these to allow for the cardboard box they come in). You just have to bolt on the wheels and pop in the tray liners. It's possible you'll fit them in a hatchback, but I would check the measurements to be sure... you might need to make more than one trip if you're buying more than one unit (i.e. the bundle deal). The stickers are a pain to remove, so allow yourself some time for this (WD40 works well to remove the glue). Lifting/carrying the boxes is much easier if there are two of you.

Thanks for the feedback. I seen someone saying there is so much packaging it made them so much bigger. I just don't want to pay the £39 postage they are asking. Thanks again.
