Very cheap flimsy metal.
Great price but no stores near me!
Nice Find OP
Good for the money but not up to the usual professional range. Metal is the same as all the other tool chests I have so why you would think it's flimsy is beyond me. No ball bearing drawer runners, no tray matting and the badge is a sticker, otherwise it does the job.
Cold not snap on

Thank you. That pretty much tells me all I wanted to know.
I have a few of these, biggest issue for me is having to open the lid before you can get in the drawers.

Not if you close lid first when drawers open, drawers will then open, not advisable if you intend to carry around as drawers may open 😁

You're grateful of the feature if you need to take the chest anywhere in the car!

Yes I bought one of these professional chests too. The lid doesn't align properly so cannot secure the latch unless I lift the lid again and force it in alignment. When you open it, the lid skews again.
Not many about. Nearest to me 37 miles.

It’s because the drawers ain’t fully closed, make sure they are before you put the lid down.
Thanks Op,,,,,, But there appears to be very little about.

Odds are almost like winning the lottery. Awell

Better for less? Please do share!

The so called "Professional" range from Halfords is actually pretty good.

I got the 3-tier cabinet/drawers combo as well as one of these portable toolboxes last year and find them very good.

I actually considered the "Industrial" range from Halfords at the time but chose the "Professional" in the end as side-by-side could see no real difference in quality apart from maybe the wheels and the overall cost.

These are more than adequate for the DIYer and maybe even for a small workshop.

Yes, they are not "Snap-On", but neither is the price.

Is that not by design?

Otherwise, you'd have this in the back of your van and the drawers would probably fly open as soon as you hit your first roundabout, scattering your toolage everywhere.

Yes but it's a pain in the ar5e when you have them on a shelf so can't open the drawer without pulling the whole thing out, lifting the lid, opening the drawers only to find the tool you were looking for wasn't in there after all. Repeat with 2 toolboxes and 500 lost tools and you'll understand my comment.

Yeah, I have one and I kind of know what you mean with draw hunting for a particular tool.

With this and the 3-tier unit which have a total in the region of 17 drawers, I had a similar problem initially.

Ended up labeling the drawers on mine and have specific drawers for certain tool types.

Pretty much go to the correct drawer every time now.......except when the borrowers have borrowed and returned something.

Nearly always ends up in the wrong drawer.
Anyone have a Halfords discount code to add onto this... 20% additional discount on all metal storage!
Thin, like biscuit tin thin.
Lifetime guarantee so who cares if it thin and crap lol

Very cheap flimsy metal.

I had a poke at these in the shop and have to agree. Really disappointed with the quality of these. The cantilever tool box is brilliant though...
The quality of this so called professional range is nowhere near what it used to be (I'm going back at least 15 years now) and this is reflected in the price.
The build quality is poor. Not everything aligns like it should, the metal is very thin and flimsy and really you need the drawers on bearings.
If it's a cheap toolbox you want that you won't be using on a weekly basis then it'll do the job and it's good for the price.

As. It says it's designed for diy enthusiasts. Probably not the best choice for day to day use but if you're thinking of storing your tools in some sort of organized manner it does the job well. I just got one and put the spanners and screwdrivers in it. I didn't even know I had so many kicking about I didn't know were there. For £20 I can't complain at all.
