Halfords Rechargeable 1 Million Candlepower Torch Product Description

The Halfords Rechargeable 1 Million Candlepower Torch has a swivel handle and stand which allow you to position the torch however you need it, and this makes it a very versatile product for when you are working as it allows you to keep your hands free.

The torch has a continuous use time of 45 minutes from a single charge and can be recharged before the battery runs out. If the charge is very low the battery will take approximately 8-10 hours to reach maximum capacity when using the mains adaptor supplied. However, a 4 hour charge period will provide a useable amount of charge in the battery.

one is Silverline and one is halfords though, unless i've missed a bit on the halfords page which says it's a silverline?

the halfords one has good reviews

not all "1 million candlepower" torches are the same
Looks exactly the same design...... I'd put money on them both being made in the same chinese factory and branded with whatever name the customer want.

They'll will have been made to the exact same specification in a factory in China from the same generic parts - if ones crap odds are the other will be too.
Don't believe the 45 minutes of continous usage hype, I had the same one which only lasted 7-8 mins tops when fully charged, those million candles burn out fast

a MILLION candles !!!!
Had one and it was crap.
Spent about £30 on a Cree torch and I'm a happy chappy now.

The batteries on these are very poor based on my experience of a couple of them. After a couple of charges they don't hold the charge for anything more than a few minutes.
Apeds

For when 900,000 just isn't enough.
We had a major electrical shut-down at work last year, which meant the place was in total darkness and needed patrolling 24/7 for a week.. we had units very similar to this onsite.. they literally lasted about 5mins before they faded beyond use.. in the end we ended up using mobile phone camera flashes and £1 LED torches from a pound shop.

The £1 torches are still in our drawers for 'emergencies' and the other ones (like these) are, well no longer onsite.
I think these are a bit old hat now. The cheapy Chinese high output LED torches are more practical and thrash them performance wise.

Don't you just love this site - despite nearly every comment from people who've actually used these saying how crappy they are the deal is getting voted hot.................As a senior manager in retail once said to me..........

I agree - this is probably total crap - yet the other cracking deals which are for good well recognized branded products that i have posted have got less heat - just goes to show people only look at the price versus the advertised normal price... :-(
Just chucked one i the bin and bought a Sealey LED one

Not blaming you OP a deal is a deal - but as you said it just goes to show how many people only read the the heading and nothing else!
How much are the bulbs? I'm guessing they are not LED ones, so can easily break if dropped.

Thanks
I've had 2 of these, both rubbish and the pair of them only lasted 3 months.
Got mine, charged up, works spot on.

Well worth £9.

Cheers OP
