Meh, 2 pieces of wood will do the same job

Why dey called chocks weird why not stops innit

Because a chock supports or wedges something to prevent it from moving at all, a stop limits how far something can move. ¡nn¡t!
Need some for my Gulfstream. Saved me a bit. Cheers.

folding too so they may suit caravan/motorhome owners who are short of storage. My Motorhome plastic ones are light but bulky.......
chock is from the old french meaning block of wood or log...
hot...thanks
These are awful, and crushed for me. I found some Rubber Wheel Chocks
Thanks op, been looking for this for my Spitfire
"chock is from the old french meaning block of wood or log..."

Beg to differ, chock is from old English meaning to strangle or choke. Hence term chock full. Wedges of wood were used to stop barrels moving on ships, which choked the barrels and became called chocks. Hooray Henrys later shouted chocks away to move the wedges away from the wheels of their plane when taking off!

I was just going to say good for parking my G5 in the driveway
A good wheel chock should not be smooth. It should be one solid piece with teeth to grip the tyre and a handle to pull it out.
Would these be suitable for a Lancaster bomber, the heavy ones we have to use are getting a bit of a struggle now I'm getting on a bit. Thanks Douglas.

I wouldn’t. My KM Ekranoplan wheels dwarf these.
You’d be best of using a couple of spare Tallboy’s, it’s not like you’d get away with dropping them these days.
Ok thanks, ha the old sea monster, impressive. I thought these might do the job, they must look bigger in the picture.
How do you use these? What do they do?
Bought these yesterday, certainly did the job. So much so the car wouldn't budge when I tried to drive it forward after forgetting to remove them.

Heat.

If takes 30 minutes for you to cut a piece of wood you should not be working on cars anyway!

Lol. You gotta be the hulk to snap a tree branch thick enough. Why don't people just use house bricks. They're like 30p each unless you find em.
I'd just like to add after over 30yrs of home mechanics (and some trade) i ran my daughters car up 1 ramp to change exhaust... nissan juke so good clearence... anyway. Up one ramp. Handbrake on... started to remove zorst.... thing rolled down the ramp!!!... i scrambled out sharp but i'm not the thinnest of blokes and the sill nipped me chest... very very lucky.. very lucky!... people say you can't teach an old new tricks... disagree
These are a must for anyone that wants to say "chocks away" as they pull off in their convertible with their scarf flapping in the wind... (So everybody )

Errm that was bit of a joke.

Also you don't need to be the Hulk, just have a few Morrison breakfasts and you can just hang off a branch

They lasted me a whole one job until I forgot about them after I was done and just drove past them leaving them flat
OMG just what I need, so fed up of my car rolling away while I'm in the gym!
Got some of these in a kit with a trolley Jack and axle stands. Good on the flat when jacking the front, however can slip on concrete surfaces at higher angles once the rubber perishes/scrapes away.

I got mine in a Halfords kit but they must have updated the design as mine haven't got any bits of rubber on.
