HALIFAX - 0% Balance Transfer and 0% Handling Fee for 25 months

I took this offer out at the beginning of the year and found that they're still offering it. Great if you have credit you need to transfer over as its completely free! This deal buys you 25 months to find another offer or just gives you some more time to pay off your credit cards!

0% on purchases for the first six months too!

£20 TCB too

If you're balance transferring then you should NEVER use it for purchases … If you're balance transferring then you should NEVER use it for purchases as well. Haven't read the ts&cs on this, but usually the cheapest debt is cleared by your repayments.Yes, for 6 months the purchases might not incur interest, but if you intend to use the full 2 years to clear/reduce your transferred in debt, you could face heavy fees against any purchases that won't be repaid until after your 'free' debt is cleared in full.

Summary box says the following;

We use your payments to pay off balances charged at the highest interest rate first and so on down to balances with the lowest interest rates. This means the more expensive balances are always paid off first.
If there is more than one type of balance at the same interest rate, they are paid off in the following order: cash transactions, purchases, balance transfers and money transfers, and then default charges (plus any interest or charges incurred as a result of those balances). For each type of balance, your payments will pay off the oldest balance (and related fees, charges or insurance) first.

As this is rubbish you should probably delete the comment.

This has been the same with every credit card I've ever had. I've never had one that's the opposite stated by the post before you.

I just cancelled my card with Halifax they were a pain in the ****, mithering me practically every month changing my credit limit... no one else does it!

Pretty sure it will be no. Card providers usually don't transfer from their own cards. Will be in the T&Cs.

Says on the site:
You can transfer balances to us (£100 minimum) from most credit cards and some store cards, excluding other Halifax products.

thanks OP just done in a couple of minutes

Hope this helps everyone. You can't transfer between Halifax accounts but it's great for transferring from other accounts and consolidating all credit onto one account! I've never had an issue with customer services and the online banking has been flawless. If you simply use it for balance transfers and nothing more I don't see anyone having an issue. I can imagine using it for purchases may make it tricky to manage but this card is sold as a BALANCE TRANSFER deal so anything else is a bonus!

thanks

What I meant to say was the post you quoted!

Thank you op!!! Done and accepted!

any decent deals for cash transfers?

note the "up to " 25 months

This is probably worded in this way, as if you miss a payment or pay late, most cards will automatically end the offer instantly and put you on normal rates. This is pretty standard practice.

do you find out instantly if you're accepted?

just set up a direct debit or standing order to pay it off within the 25 months.....simples

is anyone with Santander credit card here ?
just wondering if there's any charges when leaving I still have about 3 months left on my free interest and about a grand balance left.
I'm thinking of buying a used car with this balance then transferring to this.
What do you guys reckon?

No credit card companies penalise you for paying your balance off so feel free to take the Halifax credit card and balance transfer over.

Apply for the credit card, receive the credit card, activate it, create account online, log in and there should show an option to transfer from another card. Normally just input the card number and value.

The only problem here is getting a credit card with the limit you need to clear your previous card.
Make sure you have a good credit score before applying.

The continue button does not work once you get to the balance transfer page.
